Anybody here with E width feet wear the el capitan boot? If so, how did you size them? I like the look of the boot but what I've read about the 210 last being narrow is making me second guess the sizing.

I was so impressed with the fit and construction of the John Lofgren Wabash Engineers that I went ahead and picked up the El Capitan in Horween Dark Olive CXL. I was drawn to the unstructured toe box and the olive color which I think so unique. This is day 1, no patina and just wear around the house. I’m sure they will age really well.
For those who are interested in sizing - the last on the El Capitan is narrower and shorter than the Wabash engineer. I am a Brannock 11e and went true to size on the El Capitan (size 11) and they ended up being the same length and width as the Wabash engineer which I went half size down (size 10.5).

@SKT thank you I’m super happy with them

Combat boots in tea core cxl.

I have been window shopping and comparing JL models lately, I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the Steel Gang model? Nice pickup @Kasi

@jdwaid I just saw that you picked up 3 pairs of beautiful boots this summer. Which pair is the most comfortable ? They all look great and wear them in good health!

@Denman-John yeah I definitely went hard on new boots this summer
I discovered my feet had grown a size and in length and width so upgraded my boot rotation.I think each boot offers something a little different in terms of fit and comfort. The engineer is the roomiest, almost like wearing a slipper after it’s broken in, but it is also very heavy and not something I’d plan to wear when walking very long distances. The combat boot is probably the most snug / sturdy and the ones I’d trust for long marches on rough terrain. The best all around is the El Capitan. Very comfortable from the get go and the olive cxl is the softest of all three. It can handle long distances like the combat boot, but has much more relaxed feel under foot.
All three are horween cxl leather. I can’t speak to the horsehide versions which I assume would feel a bit firmer on the feet and require a longer break in.
