No, it was entirely my fault. I wrote that post having just woken up (literally, lying in bed) without the aid of a morning cup-o-caf.

I'd like, if you'd be so kind, the measurement of the length of the outer sole for the Indigo and Black  IH Scout boot in size 9, please.

there was at one point in time a water buffalo walking this earth and now that hide is on this boot
that's pretty fucking crazy

cotton is planted and eventually denim is woven by artisans on a vintage shuttle loom in japan
and that denim is married to water buffalo and calf hides and all sorts of other materials to make a boot

each boot is made by an 80 year old family business in canada

the design is a collaborative effort between multiple peoples, each of whom has to earn a living

the materials must be carried over oceans from supplier to maker
and finished boots must be carried over oceans again to seller
and again (sometimes) to reach buyer

it's really all pretty fucking insane
and all you gotta do is drop a little cash and shit is on your feet
price ain't all that bad once you think about it
jeans are really child's play when you compare to such an item

just had to see it again, one of the reasons jaco is one of my favorite forum members

I agree with you on Jaco's post MM.  I actually think about that kind of stuff often and am amazed every time I get a new IH product and think about what has gone into making it stand apart from all of the other stuff out there.  It's mind blowing.

I'm rambling so NICE BOOTS SHOREMAN!  really solid purchase.  May have to pick up the superblacks if they ever come in a wide for my fat feet

that sole is growing on me. i like a heel but the absence of it doesn't seen to take anything away from this boot.

Just out of curiosity, will the denim "fade" on these boots? If so, I'm not sure that's going to be such a great look…

its the classic 21oz so yeah it will fade if it gets rubbed. all the high wear areas are leather so shouldn't be too much fade on the denim if any.

I know these are bomb proof I'm sure, but applying Obenaufs LP to the water buffalo will be fine right? The only reason I'm second guessing it is because of how matte black it is, I don't want a shine. Anyways, thanks in advance.

Also, just some info from Viberg, if you want to send these off to have the Portland sole put on them its $120 + shipping(they said $30 to NYC) with 3-4 weeks turn around. I asked them because I'm still not feeling the creme/white soles. I have them on some Thorogoods and I'm just not sure.  :-\

Might just have it done locally.
