@hgering27 YEA, I ended up having my Sashiko tailored after some hot soaks and it was worth it. Wasn't bad at previous length but was worth the extra investment.

@rahrah12 yeah for sure, I like them much more now that they are hemmed. They look way better with jackets. Originally on their own they looked fine, but they just poked out too much under any of my jackets.
as soon as I get home from work, I am doing this second hot session and then if no luck, hopefully get sent out to Railcar next week

The one thing with these SJ hats that’s always concerned me it the plastic adjustment band. Wish they used a leather one…
Did a make shift repair using gorilla glue and clipped plastic from a package. Taking it fishing today. See how it goes.

@Mizmazzle ive since lost the hat unfortunately but I had one of the brown waxed canvas hats a few years back
I cannibalized the strap and metal assembly from an ebbets hat and used it in place of the plastic one
Highly doubtful they would still do this now that the company has grown so much but before the waxed hat I had the strap break on another hat and I stopped by the shop after work one day and they replaced it with a new plastic strap for me

I got my black denim Townes tonight. I bought an XL and it is quite roomy. I am going to give it a warm wash and dry to see if I can shrink it. Anyone else get theirs?

@fades-of-glory I just finished a second hot wash and machine dry on mine and it shrunk a pretty big amount I’d say, but yeah it was quite roomy to start

@hgering27 I’m happy with my results after a quick wash on warm and then about 20 minutes in the dryer on medium.

@hgering27 did the second cycle do much for you? I have an XL that's just too roomy at this point. After the first wash/dry

@ozai it made a slight difference, but not much. I am on the fence about sending it in to get hemmed, but leaning towards just sending it at this point

Warm soaking now. Should be good. I’ll post again after it’s dry and pressed, probably tomorrow. I don’t mind the current length, but I do prefer my shirts a little longer.

@northsouthdenimguy looks good, I’ve been going back and forth still. I did a second hot wash and dry and got a little more shrink, I know still hard to see because of the dark denim… I just can’t decide if it’s worth shortening a little bit

I think it looks good, especially since that’s how you like to wear yours. You prefer a little roomier fit than I do, so I think the length works well with it. To me, if it were much shorter, it might look a little odd with the roomier cut.
But that’s really just personal preference. So much of this comes down to aesthetics and how each of us likes our clothes to fit and wear.

@northsouthdenimguy thats kind of what I'm thinking also, I don't want it to turn into a boxy silhouette. I can wear it as is with a tshirt under, or I can wear a hoody under it for more of an overshirt style. I think I am going to keep it this way. I can always hem down the road if I change my mind
