Not really rant but not sure where else to put this. So think going pick up pair of 633 21oz SBGs tomorrow at self edge. Need pair of black denim for real estate, leasing agent, more property management jobs etc. I usually go in with a game plan when buying or else there for extra hours chatting and figuring out what to get lol. Always hang there while chat it up with the squad . I havnt had pair of black selvedge denim since few pairs of Taylor stitches like 8-9 yrs ago.I’ve noticed they have 634 21oz ODs in stock as well, also the newer self edge collab 19oz od and then they just got the 14oz BB in stock. Leaning towards the 21oz SBG but the 21oz ODs could be rad. That being said I do have pair of XHSib in mh closet waiting to break out. I know different denim but def torn. Will for sure try few on, but does anyone have any experience with some of the black or ODs to share, also maybe the BB?
-
@meatmarketdenim1 if Self Edge still has any old school 21oz super black in stock, you should get some of that! There’s no better denim to stealth its way into semi professional environments, imo. The OD and SBG will start to fade and always immediately read as jeans in a way that super black doesn’t. I don’t have any experience with the BB so that may serve the same purpose in a lighter weight.
-
Oh nice thank you for the info, bout head over in few and be trying on few pairs. Eyeing some khakis as well

@meatmarketdenim1 the 21oz OD is the most comfortable, velvety denim ever in my opinion. It was my first pair of IH and I’ve left them sitting unworn for years at a time due to getting XHS or 822s etc. But everytime I come back to them I’m blown away by how insanely good they are. The fades are subtle but incredible. They are so crazy soft. I’ve tried a lot of various IH denims. But everytime I put those 21oz ODs back on, I’m reminded that it is pretty damn special.
I’ve had SBG and XHSbb too (another fave of mine). You of course can’t go wrong. But that 21oz OD is my most comfortable denim to date.
-
@Mizmazzle dude, my OD are still fairly new but I love them in the 14oz. I'll def be looking more into the ODs for future purchases. They seem to be slow faders but I dig the extra darkness. Perfect in-between of regular indigo and BB.
-
@WhiskeySandwich I don’t think OD can be beat for zero break in time and maximum comfort.

@Mizmazzle
Thanks for the info homie. I Stuck with the 633s for options. I went with the SBGs they fit like perfectly, had to go size up but like don’t even need belt rn. The 14oz BBs were great too. I wanted them to stay black longer and remember my 21oz didn’t fade that fast. I wont be wearing them everyday, going have more rotation going on. -
@meatmarketdenim1 SBG are a good choice! They'll def fade though. Same with the 14oz BBs. I'm sure you wont be disappointed.
-
@WhiskeySandwich
Thanks man def super hyped on them -

Thank you, my bad on wrong thread. -
@meatmarketdenim1 no worries, and even I didn’t know where to put it. Sometimes you have to let a conversation run for a bit until you find it’s spot.

@SKT I have zero use for one since I don’t eat toast. The wife on the other hand happily paid a couple of hundred for some fancy contraction that does 4 pieces at once and that can have each slot individually dialled in.
How much are u willing to pay?
