These new Mike D solo songs have me very excited for a potential album or tour with his kids band.

We let the kids make our recent roadtrip playlist and it was nuts in a good way. The Kinks, Fountains of Wayne, Disney’s Descendants Soundtrack, Wilco, sombr, The Beach Boys, The Cure, Phoebe Bridgers, The Clash, Vampire Weekend, Olivia Rodrigo, Old 97’s. My proudest moment… Descendants soundtrack notwithstanding (and lots of newer acts whose names I can’t remember)

@SKT Whenever I went on road trips with my son, I insisted that he make the playlist. Great memories!

              Fountains of Wayne

I could take or leave the single but welcome interstate managers is a criminally underrated album

Second leg of the trip home took an 80’s turn but stayed eclectic. Queen, G’nR, Panda Bear, Billy Joel, K-Pop, Geese, Hall & Oats, Soccer Mommy, Tommy James and the Shondells…it was a wild ride.

@SKT I did a really cool/fun cover of I Think We’re Alone Now. Maybe I can find a way to get it to you. The woman who arranged and sang the background vocals had previously worked with Petula Clark. IMG_3108.jpeg Jay Elle was the singer/guitar player I was working with at the time that we did this arrangement. You can probably find it under his or her name…Margaret Dorn.
