Only $23.20 to me but still not a meal “deal”

I was talking to the two oldest girls, who are getting ready to head off to college next year, and told them, “You do realize ordering Uber Eats like it’s going out of style for every meal is eventually gonna end, right?”

The funniest part is when Sofia, one of the 18 year olds, says, “Well you buy lots of $100 jeans, shirts, and boots!”

Oh darling… sweet, sweet child. You truly do not understand the cost of things yet. 😆

@northsouthdenimguy I don't get Uber Eats and that's why I can afford the jeans, boots and shirts.

At least that's what I tell myself.

Guys, can I whine a little? All prices should be based on the minimum wage. Gas is supposedly cheaper in Russia, and services are cheaper. But!!! Our shitty government manages to tax us twice and even three times. As a result, I can't replace my old car, I can't fill up my tank, I can't go on vacation like a normal person. And when I buy groceries, I always leave alcohol in the basket. So I can get drunk and forget. My life now resembles that of a modern-day Boer from South Africa.

I'll say something about the car separately. Our fucking Russian cars are complete crap! The government, in collusion with the only three Russian manufacturers, inflated the prices of their crap. Foreign brands left Russia because of the war. The Chinese came with their cardboard cars. And now they cost as much as the Mercedes that left before the war. I'm an honest man. I don't know how to steal and rob. I can't buy a car like a European or an American. Fuck. It's a disgrace! Life in Russia is a beast.

I feel your pain. I have a similar-aged Yukon that had about the same amount in repairs last year, wife’s Denali this year. Once they hit a certain age, it can turn into a running laundry list of stuff. I’ve told myself if I get one more bill like that, they just might mysteriously disappear… of course I’m kidding, whoever’s listening. 😆

@northsouthdenimguy ironically if our suburban was cooled with an industrial chiller plant I could have probably bribed a few of our techs at work with Pendleton and Busch light to fix it for me

I was so happy when it arrived though because it’s bright red, crazy how much color can play a role 😅

With this being the long weekend, every weekend cottager is here and all hell breaks loose until the end of the season often until late September or early October. I know I shouldn’t complain as I’m grateful for what I have, but hell…

The biggest issue is that people who would never behave badly in their own neighbourhoods, act like complete arses whilst at their weekend getaways.
