              Yep. It's an ovipostor, so only the females have it. The female is able to sense where June beetle grubs are underground and then lay eggs directly inside 'em.

              So it's H.R. Giger-esque in both appearance and life cycle!

              Also, despite being a wasp, it is sans stinger.

                Came across these pics from a few years back. No idea what it is, was first and only time I’ve seen it. In a town called Buena Vista, about 100 km north of where I live. Pretty rad markings!

                    The iPhone pictures will let you identify different plants, animals, and insects (as long as the picture is good).

                    That was the response.

                        @motojobobo I use it all of the time now. When I was in the Turks and Caicos, used it many times of the plants there. A great tool to have.
