IH-9526PJ - 21oz Non-Fade Denim Modified Type III - Superblack

@Alex said in IH-9526PJ - 21oz Non-Fade Denim Modified Type III - Superblack:
This denim may be discontinued. We are having big issues with the production, and I am in talks with Japan about it currently. It would be a major bummer, but - we are talking specifically about the Superblack Non-Selvedge.
Sadly this is now confirmed. The mill was forced to move the production to a different type of loom, and it created visual bumps in the fabric as a result. Haraki is not willing, rightly so, to make what he considered B/C grade denim, so we have come to the agreement to discontinue making this denim. There are still some production runs in the works, and we will hopefully still release those as planned with the A grade denim, but if that changes we will let you know.
Moving forward, as we have done with jeans already, the IH-9526PJ, IH-9527J and IH-9526V will be superseded by the Superblack Selvedege Denim. Accessories will move across too, at some point, but we have more flexibility to make these from B grade denim as we need smaller sections.

Plea for emotional support over the loss of my IH-9526PJ. (joking...kind of).
I bought my IH-9526PJ in 2023 and after two years of wear, it was breaking in nicely. Did my IH-9526PJ make a difference in how I felt every time I put it on? In a word, yes. I loved that jacket precisely because of how it made me feel every time I put it on. Then one night our entire town and our house along with it, burned to the ground. Within the context and scope of this nearly incalculable loss, the loss of a jacket is inconsequential. Physical objects can for the most part will be replaced so it is truly not a big deal...but damn do I miss that jacket.Adding to my original post above...just read Alex' update that the Superblack Non-Selvedge denim is officially discontinued. And with that my IH-9526PJ gets added to the list of physical objects that cannot be replaced.

@chris_w Man, I'm sorry to hear that. I wish you the best and hopefully everyone is safe!

Is there a difference between the non-fade selvedge fabric and the non fade non-selvedge fabric?
Edit: besides the selvedge of course

Hi there. Cheers from Spain. A simple yay or nay question. (Taking into consideration that its not going to be any restock any time soon)
Thanks in advance.

Update: I decide to keep it eventually . And we are happy than ever!!! (Phot title: Yelling to the past)

@Malkior Looks great.
I recently picked one of these up second hand and have fallen fully in love with it. They are bad. ass.
BUT .... I have some questions about the button holes. Many of them see to have extra threads and frayed edges. The very bottom one is clean, but the others all have a little something going on.
Is this normal? Should I be concerned? Should I repair it? Do it myself? Send it off somewhere? Cut it away? Anyone else also see this? I've seen a little of this before on other jackets but not quite to this extent.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Here's a clean one:

Here are some frayed holes:

And here are two with lots of extra thread:

Oi! I'm no expert but I would say that you dont have to worry about that. Mine its brand new and have similar (but newer, extra thread) I think that is a natural "behavior" of the holes after use (button and unbuttoning).
