The worst part is -despite our objections, I'm sure they'll consider it a successful season and rule era, thanks to the boosted viewership they're certainly getting with Apple, Netflix, and the F1 movie.

So I've done a bit of research and I'm trying to wrap my head around this new PU. It's surprising difficult as they seem pretty cagey about details. "Just watch, you'll like it, lots of overtakes."
total power over 1,000 HP, but this breaks down into a distribution of kW, which i dont understand as well.
ICE = about 400kW
Electric Motor = about 350kW
Overtake = 0.5MJI'm sure the electic motor isn't pure drag at all times the "Boost" button isn't pressed, right? Or is it purely running on the ICE at about 540hp?
Seems like they probably have a split that is 'Boosted' like 20% with the button. Then maybe another 10% with "overtake"? (i swear i heard Jacques, say something like this during the broadcast.)
Thing is, How does the FIA regulate exactly the output and discharge of the various 0.5MJ for "overtake" when the systems are bespoke? If one car were to regularly find itself in a DRS-Train, ahem, "Overtake-train" would they theoretically place higher wear on their components via hyper discharge?
Just brainstorming, feel free to join me

Surely they have time to put on a second Silverstone race

Gutted for Lando.
Looks like Toto has played a blinder, signing and sticking with Kimi and putting the effort into the new car.
Like you said @giles - last year may be the only chance Lando has/had to win the World Championship. That may prove to be true.
My question is, how long does Max wait for the car to come good, and if he doesn't wait, what team could he go to to be competitive?
Tip of the cap to Bearman and joyful to watch Lewis in the mix and happy.

I think Toto now would have a much different decision to make with what he now knows to be true for 2026 - a) the car is fast and b) the driver pairing and the team dynamics are positive.
All teams want to win the manufacturers' title, which requires two drivers. I don't think Max and George would be a good mix, and I think Max could destroy Kimi's mental growth.

So happy for Kimi! Great battle between Ferraris. The hybrid setups are still dumb. 7 DNFs!?
-
Yup and it seems like the fia is still wanting to stay tight-lipped about the issues with the cars
-
there's probably no catching mercs and Ferrari at this point.. unless engine manufacturers can sort out the PU issues quick..

The FIA fuckers will most likely change the rules to sort that out.....
-
@Giles pretty sure the whole sport in the past few years have revolved around that whenever there's major advantage to 1 or 2
