Ha, @DeeDee85, well said!
If Drive to Survive was around back in Hunt's time it would have been far more racy!

I'm a big Honda fan. I suspect Aston will not have a good start to the season. However, I think a Honda Newey combo will deliver something. Newey knows Honda. I can't imagine that Aston has a Honda is a coincidence.
There's an interesting dynamic there. It seems like their vibration/performance issues are transmission related, so i'm sure once they resolve that, they'll have a huge jump in performance.
Another interesting thing is the RBPT/Ford is probably more Honda than Ford actually, from what I've read. Seeing as Ford has apparently hugely overstated their involvement in the PU's development, with RB building on their knowledge from their previous partnership with Honda.

we're back! and for the love of the fire horse lunar year. I hope this is Ferrari's year!
-
@WhiskeySandwich that's interesting insight.
I wonder if any of the Honda engineers from the RB days have stuck around with Ford.

Good shout @louisbosco
I would love Lewis to pick up a few wins this season and or finish top three in the driver's championship

George has been patient over the years. Is this why? Keen to see whether Merc have their mojo back.
Time now for S8 D2S - should be plenty of drama.
-
Indeed. Also well done Kimi for keeping his cool and to get P2 on a street circuit after binning it.
-
Great to see Ferrari have a competitive car. Less great, they still have the same head-scratching strategy.
-
I think Honda is providing Stroll with defence for his usual form for the moment. That won't last long, though.

While it was an entertaining race, I’m not sure I’m into this race dynamic/rhythm with the focus on battery charging/deployment. It seems gimmicky and the overtaking artificial. There’s still a lot of strategy but like LeClerc so eloquently stated “It is like the mushroom on Mario Kart.” I don’t think I can stand Russell dominating the year, so hopefully Ferrari and Max can close the performance gap, which seems to be largely overstated by pretty much everyone.
-
They botched the regs and shouldn’t have allowed Mercedes to effectively cheat. Gonna be a shit season unless drastic measures are taken quickly.
Let’s get back to a match of engineering and driver skill, not seeing who can manage their PU better.
