@cyclops I think they are too small. The buttons themselves should be pretty difficult from the start but that’s just a spacing issue.

Agreed. Next size up. They won’t stretch enough to be comfortable and you won’t wear them.

The 666 sits lower than the 888 so your hips must be wider making the same size fit differently. My experience with 25 oz has been very little stretch compared to the lighter weights.

As far as difficulty with buttoning, XHS is difficult to button at first due to the thickness and rigidity of the material when new and the hole being tight. It should not be difficult for the button side to reach the hole side. That’s a sizing issue.

@Matt and @daugustway awesome, genuine thanks for the advice! Its good to know what the limits are. Its hard in australia as there arent that many stores to go to try on, so its a bit of a guess trying online etc. So thanks guys!

I actually wore 888 for a while and went back to 666 because I was never comfortable with the way it fit my gut. Everyone’s different. It’s pretty hard using the “measure a pair you own” method when the style and fit are so different among cuts. Good luck.

@Matt haha yeah i know what you mean. Some days the 888 sits well, but in some sitting positions its a challenge. But i love it. I was just trying to explore other cuts but i think i bit off more than i could chew with this 666 and 25oz as well!

The button should meet the hole without too much force or sucking in of the gut. Then it has room to stretch to conform to regular movement. If you need it to stretch just to meet then there’s no stretch left after the button meets the hole and they will always be uncomfortable.

@Matt I'm similar, I've got a lil fupa going on at the moment and the 888 fits perfectly everywhere but the gut... I need a somewhat shorter rise, but the 888 are still awesome.

@Jord thanks for your help too. So thats what i was trying to do with the 888s, trying to find a cut or fit that is similar but without the gut punch...what model do you guys reckon kind of achieves that?

That’s tough. If your belly is in the way but you still want the tapered leg then you may want to check out Self Edge’s 633. The only other tapered fit is the 777 which is not really relaxed at all or the 1955 which is high rise.

@Matt and @Jord my friends! I managed to get it on! Top button done! Lost two kilos from not going to the gym ....its unwashed though so should i just go soak in a tub with it on??? Or still too risky still? If it shrinks in the waist by an inch i may be in trouble. Thighs are hugging, from the knee down its fairly loose! I can slide 1 finger in no issues. Two is tight. I...think i might go for it, just was some advice for a newbie 😉

Yeah you could just wear them in a bath honestly, ideally if it's just a "somewhat warm" wash, the waist will stretch back out too...

That looks like plenty of room in the waist, although if the thighs etc are too tight might be another issue, maybe @Matt can chime in he's an OG

If you think youll keep them then I’d stick to cold water for soaking or washing. You shouldn’t get an inch if any with cold water.

I wouldn’t worry too much about wearing them for soaking unless that’s something you’re excited about. A quick cold soak in the tub to remove the starch and excess indigo then aor dry outside for a bit and you’ll be squared away. They’ll likely tighten up after the soak but will go back to where you have them now quickly.

@Matt just for clarification, it shrinks when it gets wet right. So i was thinking if i wore it in the tub it would shrink to fit. Im hoping once i take it off wet it wont shrink too much further? Is that logical? Ive seen people on youtube soak for 45 to 1 hour. Is that not necessarily needed?
