I want to drive this point in...It doesn't matter if you guys show your face or not. I personally like it and feel as @endo stated, but know that people may have their own reasons to post their face of not. I just want to thank you guys for the effort you make and know that it is appreciated.

I blame it on my mostly Scandinavian, German/Austrian heritage and Midwestern upbringing. Add Lutheran to the mix and it’s basically a perfect storm of emotional restraint, passive-aggressive politeness, and a deep belief that enjoying things too openly is a character flaw

@goosehd I agree it’ll be different for everyone. For me, I don’t have enough enemies for targeted image manipulation to be an issue, if someone wants to manipulate a random image there are far better looking faces out there, and I don’t see people running away screaming or puking their guts out when I walk down the street. I guess that means it’s ok to show my face.

I will say this about posting my face on the forum…
Have you ever been searching for an iron heart item via Google and stumbled across your own mug (or that of any number of forum member friends’) from some random thread post? It’s a bit disconcerting. I had a “normie” buddy of mine come across my picture from the forum, properly “posed” for maximum style effect. He pulled no punches with ribbing the hell out of me for that one.

I’ll add here that when I started the forum, I chose not to post my face much because of privacy and AI concerns. I’ve never had a Facebook account, never really participated in social media of any kind because I’m basically a tech curmudgeon and Luddite. And now not showing my face very often is really just habit…although I should because I’m freaking beautiful. Not @endo level but pretty close
