Peace all, have any of you fine individuals any experience in washing one of their blankets? I figure there might be someone here who picked up the IH one at some point in time and might be able to shed some tips and/or tricks.

If you’re going to wash it yourself, this is the safest way I’ve found for wool (especially indigo-dyed)

way better off just getting the dry cleaning if it’s convenient

Below is something I looked up a while back when I first bought one of the Indigofera blankets

            Water
            • Cold water only — never warm or hot

            Detergent
            • Wool-specific detergent only
(Eucalan, Soak, Woolite Delicates — not regular Woolite)

            Washing method
            1. Fill a tub with cold water and add detergent
            2. Gently submerge the blanket
            3. Let it soak for about 10 minutes
            4. Very light swishing only — no agitation
            5. Drain, then refill with cold water to rinse
            6. Press water out gently — never wring

Expect some indigo bleed on the first wash.

Drying (this is where most people ruin wool)
            • Lay flat on thick towels
            • Roll towel + blanket to absorb excess water
            • Lay flat again to dry
            • No hanging
            • No dryer
            • Keep it away from heat and direct sunlight

Slow, gentle, and boring is the goal here. Anything involving heat or agitation is how wool gets permanently damaged.

So I'm thinking of getting a Gunpowder Hakw, as I want a pair of jeans with a slight bootcut. Would highly appreciate if anyone could share experiences regarding shrinkage and general sizing for Indigofera and the Gunpowder denim. As the rise seems rather high I feel like I could go with a 32 inseam, but wouldn't want to risk a too shirt inseam after washing, especially with a bootcut.

On a sidenote: would have loved to get the IH bootcut or boss cut but these seem to be extinct? (I don't follow much anymore and my "style" is obviously always out of fashion)

@Max-Power Correct…not so much extinct but very much not a priority. As the old adage goes, never say never…but.

So, thanks to a fast delivery by Pancho and Lefty here's me in a Hawk, 35/32. I really dig the cut and fit. Tried a few different tops too...it's been years since I actually took photos of jeans and I might be a bit rusty haha.

The length is OK, I wouldn't want it longer, yet there shouldn't be too much shrinkage...

So, I really love the fot of the Hawk and was tempted to go a little further into the bootcut territory and got me the Wyatt. The rise is crazy long (comfy but very unusual to me) and the leg opening is wider. Still, I think it could grow on me...

I bought this flannel shirt from Private White & Co at the end of September last year. When I first tried it on, one of the snaps popped off while I was taking the shirt off. I pressed it back on and told myself to remember that snap when I actually went to wear the shirt. Fast forward two months, I not only forgot about that snap, but I managed to pop two more off as well.

Long story short, I reached out to Private White & Co and they were supposed to ship me replacement snaps, but they never did. At the same time, I reached out to Indigofera and Fredrik(North American rep?) told me that if Private White did not get me what I needed, to reach back out and he would take care of it.

Now fast forward almost 30 days later and still no snaps from Private White. After a couple of emails back and forth, Fredrik sent me a return label this morning and said he is going to take care of it. He responded quickly and is willing to handle it. Hopefully it all works out. I will keep all you Indigofera fans posted. I know this is really interesting. Fantastic stuff sorry but waiting for my 10 o’clock. 🤣

well, now you have me worried. I also have a Dollard in a different colourway, and one of the snaps has had a bit of wobble in it from day one, as if the rivet wasn't pressed all the way down..

on the other hand, i've had it for years and nothing happened so far, and i managed to poke a hole into it with the prong of my belt, so, not like i care that much 😂

edit to add.. thats a really cool shirt! Indigofera usually make killer flannel patterns i think

I have owned many of their shirts and have never had any issues. They are always very well made. Apparently this particular snap has been giving them problems. Before I shipped the shirt out this morning, I was actually able to pry another snap off with my fingernail very easily.

I do not even think it is an issue of the snaps not being pressed down hard enough. I think it is a quality issue with the snap itself. The metal, although it looks like brass, seems very soft.

I asked them to replace all of the snaps just to be safe.

Fredrik at Indigofera went above and beyond. He replaced the snaps, and when I opened the package I realized there were a few extras in there that I did not even know about until they hit the bathroom floor when I pulled it out.

A couple stickers, a couple patches, and a bandanna.

None of that was expected, but it is definitely appreciated
