IH-634-XHSib - 25oz Selvedge Denim Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo/Black
-
Breaking in XHSib feels much more substantial than the its XHS brother, even with the wider leg i feel it behind the knee..
Nothing but admiration for the sized down 555 wearers out there
-
And yet, in this weirdly masochistic behavior, the "pain" in the break in process remains one of my favorite phases.
Sort of the rite of passage I guess.. -
@tvaillant75 my buddy is currently breaking in his first pair of iron hearts and he chose this pair. Here's the backs of his knees currently. I am breaking a pair in myself and I agree this does feel tougher than XHS indigo/natural.

-
@Mizmazzle the cut is amazing. I started with 888 for thigh room, have been dabbling with 1955 and this release got me to finally try out the medium rise. I was a little nervous hemming a new cut from gosport before trying them on but I read @yannis post about people converting from 888 to 634 and I totally get it now. I'm sure you'll be stoked once they fully dry!
-
@catdad1 oh I have no doubt. I tried em on when I first got them and was instant love!!
I played it safe on waiting for the hem. Wish I would have just trusted my instincts and went for the hem in Gos. Now I gotta take em to my local shop. No biggie. A bit of waiting and a bit more $$ …it’s the waiting that’s a killer. I want to start bleeding now!!
-
I forgot to share earlier. Once they were fully dried in the morning, I staged them to spook my wife before work. She was more annoyed than spooked. Funny regardless.

-
@catdad1 my pair is awaiting hemming in a chainstitch tailor shop because I also wanted to try If the 634 is for me as a mainly 555 guy before. Looking forward to f* up the back of my knees, I remember when I broke in my 555s-19L I even bled a little

Perchance, did you happen to perchance take any before/after fit pics, perchance? -
@Go-For-Chill I took a couple shitty Prewash fit pics. I’ll get some post wash ones up soon.

-
Holy f***. I haven’t had a pair of jeans hit like this since I first tried the 21oz years ago, truly a gateway drug. Glad I sized up one, thighs feel good, waist feels good.
Before and after first wash.

Looking good dudes @Mizmazzle @Subprime

I had a really fun experience with my jeans yesterday. Was planning to take them to my local denim retailer to have them hemmed but found out they won’t chain stitch 25oz. Was pretty bummed. But that led me down a rabbit hole and ended up being introduced to a local guy who is equal parts denim pattern maker, machinist, and vintage sewing machine collector and sewer. He told me to come in right away and I got to check out his incredible workshop filled within insane vintage sewing machines and machinists tools. Super cool dude and crazy knowledge of denim history and machines. He repairs all the union specials in the Denver area and bro knows his shit. After shooting the shit and watching the man work, I walked out of there a couple hours later with my jeans hemmed up to perfection!! Very cool, underground denim scene experience right in my home town I didn’t even know existed.

The finished product. Walking Carl this morning.
