Not a boot but just received this Appaloosa Gunslinger in buck brown from Nicks.
The belts are absolutely worth a look too!

For those of us with feet like a slice of pizza(6E) or in Nicks’s boots world(FFF) , they are the only PNW boot maker who can help me out! Own two pair so far, Ivan’s and Urban loggers with one being built as we speak and three coming god knows when. They are beautiful, tough and worth the money. Hum…..seems a lot like another brand I tend to like!

@Davids_denim so it is you who is preventing me from getting my Appaloosa belt! Still waiting for mine in black and brown. 22 week wait, changed the stitching thread to off-white on both. Can’t wait to get them.

@jimcord oof that’s a long wait, perhaps I cut in line a bit. I’ll bet you get something soon. I know they got some brown buck in the mail a few days ago.

@jimcord I saw them in person. Super cool and dope they did brown rough out as opposed to the usual natural rough out. Curious what they’ll look like with some wear.

Finally got my Appaloosa belts……beautiful as expected…..and currently the only pair of raspberry double stuff boots in the world other than the Nicks pair at Boot Camp show.

@DeeDee85 Thank you! I agree, that's why I didn't send them back. I have a belt in the Buck Brown and it is significantly darker. I understand there are variances in batches of tanning, but when I look at the pictures of the Tan Oiled Latigo, they look very much like this boot in comparison to the Buck Brown

Scored some Nicks on the bay for cheap!. They were pretty grimy but the soles weren’t very worn. Perfect project pair!
I sanded the sides of the soles, gave the rough-out a good brush with a brass suede brush, and gave the edges a clean chamfer. Personally, I don’t love how wide the PNW makers leave their welts, so I took them down just a little closer to the stitch and evened out that spacing a bit. I think they came out pretty decent!

Great job! I love cleaning all my wedge soles. I’ll sit on the couch on a Saturday or Sunday morning with all my maintenance stuff in front of me watching murder documentaries while I clean them.
