So I didn’t find this one myself. A buddy brought it back from a wooded area circa 60 km west of my town. I was amazed at the dry, papery feel of it. Assuming it was way beyond its edible stage? No idea if it was ever a plump, moist mushroom tempting us to a bite.

Do you know what type it is? Most mushrooms can make you sick or even kill you if consumed.

No idea…quite uncommon to find people around here with some knowledge of mushrooms, other than the farmed ones. As a consequence, I’ve never heard of people trying them as food. And the published guides usually won’t cover the species around here.

@Oaktavia yea I picked the ovoids and the cyans. Left the amanita because they are fun to look at..

@Oaktavia yes! We’re lucky that they grow here twice a year. I have a full jar from last year in the cupboard still
