no curl on my collar, but assume you can correct this w/ a bit of water and making sure that it lays properly when on a hanger, I've found that the arm creases reset a bit whenever I wear in the rain - this one gets early fall over a t-shirt AND under a coat wear as the season gets colder, unfortunately I only sized to a 42 (same as my steer oil ones), but the stiffness of this leather makes it so I need to wear the leather a bit to warm it up before the first two buttons stop popping open - still a great piece though and first foray into the eco-horse. Have a Y2 piece from Lua arriving in Dec/Jan that should be a monster to break in.

Put it on dry last night and it pulled out a bit, put more on my way out this morning. I did read that you can also do it as a paste. I may try that if it doesn’t pull the rest of it out today but once again, thank you and others for the tip 🤟🏻👊🏻🤟🏻

@WhiskeySandwich would you say this is warm and jacket like? Or more over shirt? I’m guessing over shirt level warm based on the hoodie layer.

@northsouthdenimguy do these actually come in Size 50?! That is the size I need for sure. Love my horsehide in 48 but it's just a tad too snag to be comfortable. I make it work though!

My camel is a 50, the Olive is a 48. Only a T-shirt with the 48 if I want to snap it. The 50 I can wear UHF or whatever.

@northsouthdenimguy yep. Sound's like we're pretty similar. Can only rock a t-shirt under my 48 so I primarily use it for riding in the summer. Still a stunning piece and not too bothered by it. Wearing it right now actually

@Mizmazzle not who you were asking, but this is actually based off Y2's work shirt, where they add a couple of pockets to make it a chore shirt. Even the pieces I have from them that are called jackets won't keep me warm if I'm just wearing a t-shirt underneath in sub ~32F temps.

The warmest thing ive got from them is probably their 1.6mm deerhide western shirt. The hide seems to trap the most air due to how spongy it is, if that makes sense, so it also traps the most heat. Their horse is otherwise pretty hard and dense, so it's a great for wind and generally for not getting too wet, but it isnt very warm.

The jacket itself is pretty temp versatile, but with a hoodie it’s about as much as I could ever need in MD

Well, I did two dry rounds of baking soda and got a little impatient, so yesterday morning I mixed some baking soda with water.

Here’s what I learned: I probably should’ve made just enough to cover the two stains maybe even less since I’m sure it crept as the day went on.

After removing the paste, the oil spots were gone, but in their place was a dark brown spot about the size of a small cookie 😂.

Last night, I wiped it down with water to try and lighten or blend it, then put it in front of a fan. That didn’t do much, but this morning, once I started creasing the leather, it was obvious it would lighten up along the folds. I’ve been working it a bit, and it’s already improving. It’s gonna be fine, but I’d definitely approach it differently next time knowing how much it darkens the area.

I think you’ll be OK; looks similar to a water spot that I get on my SS-13 (Camel Steer oil Western) that disappear with a bit of time and weather exposure - but yes small bit of corn starch or baking soda and a drop of H2O goes a long way (and unfortunately time and reapplications) - might be leftover residue that some water will take away or just in need of a mustang paste application. I use mustang paste on most of my horsehide jackets w/out darkening substantially. Goodluck and don’t stress, leather is pretty resilient!

@northsouthdenimguy ah! Yeah, I was a bit unsure about the paste application. The dry cornstarch allows it to absorb the oil. A wet paste, left for some
Time, will seep into the leather it seems.
Maybe the paste would be best suited for a light scrubbing then immediately wipe off?

Yeah, it’s going to be OK. I’ve been kind of working it today with a soft horsehair brush, my finger and it looks even better now plus I wore it for a bit today. Just need a good rain shower…

I reached out to TJ since he’s the Y2 Master he said some saddle soap, but he probably do nothing and “just let it ride as it will get #ucked up again” 😂 every interaction I have with that man is hilarious.

I’ve coveted the Y’2 Shop Vancouver chore shirts for quite a while now and when this popped up on eBay a couple of days ago I had to take the opportunity, especially the run of them was so limited. My suede coverall is a 40 and a slim fit on me and this is a 42 - the fit seems pretty good TBH, although I don’t think it was worn very much by the last owner so needs to shape out around my shoulders a bit.

Looking forward to giving this some decent wear - and to the previous owner (who I’m pretty sure is in here from the eBay username) thanks dude!
