Got up in the pouring rain.  Water cloudy which is no good for the sort of Bass fishing I do, tried for 20 mins, then went after Mackerel somewhere else, hooked and lost one, caught small Pollack.  Came back home to bed…..

              haha, I go low tech
I'm not completely confident in the strength of the system
in my last house I had the hangers sunk into nice 2x12 floor joists
these are engineered joists with OSB between 2x3s…
              I only weight 150 so I think this'll do
anyway the house is just a rental

found this strap at a local flea market for 3€ and thought why not…

is it too thick for a belt?…otherwise i could make a nice strap out of it for a case or something similar!?...

                                opinions?

just oiled it to make it a bit softer!

That's pretty heavy stuff. My belt is 4mm thick and I wouldn't want any thicker. Ofcourse it'll soften up in use, but that'll take time. Mine starts to be broken in now, after about 8mo everyday use.

But it's yours, can't go much wrong if you do a belt out of it. Remember to wet the leather properly when you do the bend for buckle. 10mm chigago srews will be OK to keep the end together. Do you have dies and punches to make the holes?
