Stitchdown Patina Thunderdome(Year 5)

@Mister_Brue dang that’s shite! I think you can still register into November if them boots ever find their way home.
@ZackB jump in the fray, hombre!
-
@Mizmazzle Yes, I did see that. It will a bit of a shame to lose a month, but I’ll be happy to drop in then. They are resizing another pair and sending them over, so hopefully they make it this time.

I do have a belt I can enter which might be fun.
-
Such a killer boot already they’re going to look so good as time goes on.
-
Like Miz said there’s always November

-
No turning back. Surprisingly not a bad boot to wear on a roof.

Edit: for the record I normally wear a Nicks chore boot on a wedge to blow off the roof. Just trying to break these in a little bit before I wear 10 hours on Monday. Figured this would probably help having to walk and stand at an angle…

-
@Mizmazzle I need to man! Maybe in November if I remember!
-
Didn’t enter but watching this thread closely.
-
I’ve entered this new Pigeon Tree belt in lieu of boots, just for fun.

-
@Mister_Brue that leather looks crazy
-
@Mizmazzle It’s the Hermann Oak Natural Roughout, so it looks normal on the inside.

-
@Mister_Brue looks almost purple. Maybe that’s just the lighting. That should age quite nicely!
-
So nice

My 2023-24 Work Dome Boots. Did not place but picked up the Work Dome “Peoples Choice Award”
12” Stationmaster, W&C Natural Double Stuffed, 55 Last w/moderate heel, V-bar
Loaned to these to my boys, Heath and Champ at Guilty Party to display as they were gearing up to start selling their Collab boots with Nicks. Somebody came in and fell in love with them and offered me a decent price, figured they could bet a better life with somebody else that might pay attention to them…

-
@northsouthdenimguy Wickett and Craig might make some of the best leather out there, in my opinion. I’d love to have a pair of boots made from some.
-
It’s pretty wild how much oil is “stuffed” into that DS leather. There were very few scratches or scuffs I couldn’t rub out with just my thumb. Even some of the worse marks disappeared after a quick brushing and a touch of Bick 4.
-
This guy‘s boot after three days of the dome.

-
@northsouthdenimguy that’s pretty crazy. Those boot are rather interesting as well.
I love a beat up pair of boots as much as the next fade junkie out there. I’ve got a few pairs I’m super in love with that I’ve thrown my all at. For my comp pair my plan is to just wear em like normal (not every single day and not it the harshest of conditions) and see where the leather ends up. Sort of a “worn in rotation” vibe. See where they end up…
-
I feel the same about a worn boot and just wear it… so many go crazy now trying to put patina on their boots in the first week or month of the dome. I’ve worn enough leathers in the dome and enough boots over the last 30 years that some of the stuff I see early on I'm just scratching my head. It is a competition with really good prizes, so a little “boot styling” might help some…
-
Week one is about to wrap up for me… started off pretty slow and then was on some wet sites the last couple days walking through tall grass, etc. The last photo I think is from Monday or Tuesday of this week.
