Next bucket list trip. Panama canal

There should be lots of both, especially with the drinks package.

@ROman sounds like a hell of an adventure.
Not sure if you’ll be getting off the ship while at the Panama Canal, but there is a really cool museum near the canal that captures the flora and fauna of the area before the canal was built, the photography that was documented during the build, and tributes to the stories and atrocities the people who built the canal went through and the struggle they lived and died through. Rather brutal but really worth checking out. -

Transit the Panama Canal
That has always been on my list, Sam. Bon voyage!

@twistlock then let's ask somebody in the shipping business
and do it -
I'm flying tomorrow to Seattle, boarding The Queen Elizabeth for this 22 day journey. I probably won't do posts along the way as the WiFi sucks and is iffy most of the time, but will do a photo dump on my return.

Have a great trip, looking forward seeing pics. Plus one of the coolest palindromes “A man a plan a canal panama”
-
safe travels

This is one of our bucket list cruises as well. We’re looking forward to your report

This is way up the list on best things I have ever done. The trip was great, 22 days at sea, and the stops along the way. I'll share some stops in the order they occurred. Then transiting the canal. We went through the original section which was great. Started of in Seattle, unfortunately did not spend time there.
Next stop San Francisco

Had lunch here with relatives

Sailing under the Golden Gate Bridge.

Los Angeles next, being the crazy person I am we went to the Queen Mary, which I have been to before and loved.

-
Cabo San Lucas

-
Costa Rica

Now there will be a big photo dump of going through the canal. It starts with entering Panama City, then The Miraflores Locks, The Pedro Miguel Locks, then exiting The Gatun Locks. We arrived Panama City around 5:45 AM, started the 1st Lock around 7 AM, and the hit the Atlantic Ocean around 5 PM.

Looking down, there is only a 2 to 3 foot space between the ship and canal
