These rope dyed flannels are great because the fabric isn’t brushed. So they aren’t super warm per se…easy to wear. -
@Mizmazzle excellent. That’s exactly what I need. The Iron heart 9oz flannels get a lot of use down here from me.

@ZackB might be slightly blasphemous…but I might prefer the 9oz over a UHF just a bit for its increased wearability. It’s gotta be pretty chilly for me to not overheat in a UHF.
In the easy chair with my boots on, melted whiskey in my hand. Could'na been asleep for more than three hours...time to go to work again...

I only buy the 9oz (or under) now. Barely have a chance to wear the UHFs in LA. It’s become an over-shirt/jacket to me

@JerkStore I’m in Georgia and they’re perfect. I had to sell my n1, just didn’t get cold enough here but it was awesome. I have some uhfs so that’s usually my winter wear

It’s changed how I shop now too. I have an Iron Heart A2 and a Real McCoys N1. Love them both. I don’t need another warm jacket. I just stick to lightweight stuff going forward and really lean into the climate I’m in and not wasting money on unnecessary purchases.

Joke aside, I agree with you. I was overheating in a UHF + Type III the other day. Luckily the weather is turning over here

@Mizmazzle @AdamJ You guys get a pass as it's a legitimate observation...frankly, I'm amazed that some of the guys on here can wear XHS/25oz during the heat of summer.

Yeah I had the same feelings. But you realize you’ve barely worn something after a year and it’s just taking up space in the closet. That’s why the new unlined N1 is my only purchase this season. I’ll get a lot of use out of that.

So today 2 things happened: 1) I had trouble squeezing into my tag 36 Duck 888 with thighs just a tad too tight after some recent muscle (cough) increase and 2) my favourite local IH pusher Brund had received some very tempting Samurai wide pants in a beautiful 13oz Herringbone (SWC600C-HBII Indigo Herringbone). The herringbone combines indigo, black and oatmeal colors, with gray yarn woven into the weft. Anyway... I will go much more wide-pant in the future I think!

Withheld from the recent 101 TG UHF release but must’ve used up all my willpower staving off that beauty and immediately folded for a SIN25 flannel release… fit pics to come upon arrival!

@flannel-slut Wow - amazing. Samurai flannels are great:
- love the fit vs IH / Flathead. Couldn't tell you precisely the difference but they seem to fit well.
- love the elbow detail
- love the fabrics. Though not as heavy as IH UHF and not brushed - they are their own thing.
