@myk1098 that's a pretty fantastic level of wear — did the person you bought it from say how long they'd worn it? Looks like it's been perfectly beat up yet impeccably taken care of (no surprise for something coming from Japan, haha. Masters of tasteful evo!).

Makes me wanna really beat the hell out of mine this fall/winter. The cool weather can't come soon enough.

@popvulture the jacket is pretty much like new aside from these rub marks here and some around the hem, I assume these are from accidentally rubbing at the zipper rails when worrn open ( holding some beer bottles haha), I have noticed that i am doing the same, but I dont know. looks preety good to me as added character.

@myk1098 I think yours looks really killer. I feel like these jackets need a good bit of wear before they start looking nicely worn, which is why I was wondering. I’ve had mine for at least two years (maybe three?) and there’s still no teacore showing anywhere. Granted I have a couple other leather jackets, so it’s not like I’m giving it a ton of punishment. I have managed to get the shine tamed a decent bit (these things are crazy shiny when new), but I’m gonna try to make it my main jacket this winter so it’s got a better chance. We’ll see what happens!

Tho the jacket is pretty clean- I wiped it with alcohol wipes when i first got it and cleaned it inside and out, just an OCD thing as i am the second owner of the jacket, i guess it lessen the shine.

@weftyarn Thanks Brother, tho the fit is perfect i still think the sleeves are a tad bit long , an inch less will be perfection, maybe i am just comparing it to my other jacket, but its all good .

5”10 , 160lbs , 40inch chest and this Ironheart jacket is size 36

So I got my first horsehide jacket:

A reloved Selfedge version - not because of a preference for that version (though I do like the lining), but because it had the best measurements I came across in my search (thanks to Bailey for remeasuring the shoulders).
Is pretty damn great! I’m super happy with the fit - the arms are a tad long as expected and I’ve got room in the shoulders, but otherwise it’s a fairly snug fit without it being too tight.

And I’m really pleasantly surprised with the mobility it allows. The construction of the shoulders mean that I have full mobility in the arms despite the heavy leather. I can even get my arms above my head without the jacket creeping up high on my body.

My wife came home just when I was trying it on for the first time. Noticing the robustness of the hide her first reaction was “but can you ride a bicycle in it?”
To which I could happily reply “Indeed!” In fact I think it’ll be more comfortable on the bike than my old well worn denim jacket.

I Can’t wait to take it out tomorrow.
