IH-555D - 17oz Duck Slim Cut Jeans - Brown
-
Hmm do I need a pair of these aswell...not sure a Japanese cuff would work so hemming would be required.
-
@Niney why would a japanese cuff not work? You mean physically or aesthatically?
-
@FlavourFade great question, the hem appears more narrow than other 555s therefore a double fold may cause a tightness issue more so due to the taper. I'm also not sure how it would look in non denim. Currently I do not need hemning with a jap cuff which is convenient, as i can play around with the size to allow for natural creasing.
-
@Niney I wore mine with a jap cuff for a while. Worked fine, the taper is not that strong. But I had them slightly hemmed so the opening was wieder than factory length. Eventually I decided to go single cuff with a good amound of stacked fabric

Ahhh the last model finally
so coolCrossing fingers for good measures here

I have now 2 pants in the 555 cut and it fits my body type quite well, but this is the only model in the 555 cut where I don't get the measurements. It's like all measurements are shifted right when looking at waist size if I'm making myself clear.
I might need to take another cut since I want this fabric/color@ShopatIronHeart : one question maybe to help choose a model:
When hemming this particular model/cut, will the hem get wider or is it basically the same measurement from the knee to the hem for the all length ? Thx guys -
@Slash the 555 ducks have so far been the only pair I’ve struggled with too. I’ve got 5 other pairs of 555 jeans in either 34 or 35 waist and went with my usual waist measurement in the 555D... I could hardly get my thighs in them and really tight in the knee also. I hoped they would stretch a bit but sold them on after around 10 wears when I realised that duck doesn’t really stretch
These new measurements do seem more in line with other 555 jeans now though. I’m going to go for a looser waist this time and hopefully end up with a better fit on the thigh. -
@Bailey Hey Baley
makes perfect sense, thx for the swift answer as always, will have to decide now on the model.
@DeeDee85: Yeah no choice but to go for a a larger waist. Trick is to not go too big and get a messy top block. I might still go for a 777 with some minor top block squeezing to get a better waist/other measurements ratio
-
@DeeDee85 yeah, unfortunately I hesitated on the 888’s too. The tagged 36 appeared to be my perfect size on paper.
-
@Aussie-Ben will you giving the 555D a go?
-
@DeeDee85 nah mate, the dimensions are too close for comfort. Maybe if the thigh was just a tad more. The no stretch of the canvas bit concerns me enough to sit it out. Size 38 is also way too big for my waist.
Can’t win em all -
This batch measurements are great. Just fantastic. I already have a pair but am seriously considering these. The 35 would fit perfect and I'd lose .75" in the knee and almost .5" in the hem. of course after a hem to 33.5 it wouldn't be that much...
-
@CosmoSix5 I missed out on having a look at the size charts for the previous batch, is this new batch coming up a bit smaller in the thigh? I was hoping to go up a tag size and get a slightly bigger thigh but if dimensions are smaller in comparison to the waist I’m screwed I think..
