It is the original bad boy sound…
I love DnB. Heard it first a few years ago and was like… this gets me pumped up. Usually listen to it when I’m lifting, working out, or doing chores. Can’t say I am able to really dance to it. Haha. It just makes me feel like I need to be running at top speed.
Artists I Like:
Chase & Status
IRAH
Flowdan
MC Spyda
T & SugahIf you have Apple Music you can check my EDM playlist - https://music.apple.com/us/playlist/edm-vibes/pl.u-ZmbllprT0xPqoG - DnB / Trap / House / EDM
I would love suggestions for the playlist!

@Brian love John B. Had a chance to meet him at a show in 2002. Up All Night is still up there as one of the best original tunes in the genre
-
@Fadez thanks for the playlist! Chase & Status - Boiler Room and EDC 2024 are on my workout playlist. There were a few acts at the Chase and Status show that I in that same style you might like, all from the UK
- Basstripper
- Skepsis
- Siren
I’m really feeling this live set too, great for workouts:

Thinking back to my earlier comment and also the events of the morning. I went grocery shopping definitely bumped some tunes in my car. Then I was like… no seriously. How do people dance to this? I know the “shuffle” is part of it. But honestly. I have no clue. Any videos of dancing that goes with DnB? I’ve never been to a live EDM or DnB set or show before.
-
@Fadez I couldn’t find a good video from a live show, but this one illustrates the basic pattern pretty well. I think most people dance like they are casually jumping rope with light kick forward and back. Jungle music I think people just spaz out, breakdance etc. My back and knees are too worn out to dance at 160-180bpm.

Hey, just found this thread just now. I love DnB. Though mostly things techno and house. But always appreciated a good DnB banger. Went to see Goldie at Alexandra Palace a few weeks back. He hadlined the festival together with Faithless. Was an awesome open air daytime feast.

And another favourite:

@Adero hell yeah dude! How was it seeing Goldie? Curious what his mixes sound like. When I can finally make it to the UK hitting up a Metalheadz night is high on my to-do list.
-
@jdwaid
Goldie is one of the pioneers so a “living legend” really.
It was a live performance with two drummers with Goldie running around the stage.
A very ambient soundscape with lots of jungle-ish ingredients. It was an afternoon gig, set out doors on the hill of Alexandra Palace with the London skyline as a backdrop. It was great!
-
@Adero incredible. Ambient jungle sounds about right for an afternoon set from the godfather of Metalheadz / Rufige Kru. Super jealous. Thanks for sharing!
