FWIW I think the XL looks fine, and will be more comfortable in all conditions. You’re just going to get more wear out of it, and be able to layer. No brainer for me to choose the larger one, here. The difference between it and the large is negligible enough that functionality wins for me every time.

Hey Iron Heart family I need your advice on the fit of my jacket is it to small should I size up?

Fit looks perfect to me @Goz ! How’s your comfort level? How does it feel with a layer or two underneath?

I’d say it depends how you want to wear it! If you’re good with just a tee or something thin underneath, then the current fit is stellar. It looks like the right fit to me.

@Goz looks really good! If you bought it for the shoulder seasons as a priority can size up but I'd have a hard time returning that one!

Still looks doable to me, @Goz . But the real question will be, how does it feel? Comfort is the key. You gotta want to wear it all the time.

@Goz the terms I see IH use is "it will loosen up" "shoulders will relax". It's a tight weave so.. Had mine on tonight and had my buddies lab puppy "play" biting my forearm and not even puppy teeth were making it flinch
The one thing you know for sure is being OD it's as small as it's going to get.

All denim will stretch a little when put under stress. With a jacket I wouldn’t expect much. Maybe a smidgen at the placket if it strains when buttoned, or the back when lifting or stretching your arms. Not so that you would notice, though.

Still think you can get almost a half Size out the OD in a really hot 60° + bath soak with some Powder and agitation added.

Joking aside.

Previously 3 OD Items that I have bought in XL and I then aggressively soaked with the intention of achieving a little further shrinkage if possible, all tightened up to drop by over a ½ inch in the Chest and a ½ inch in length and sleeve.

These items were:.

• 12 Oz Western OD Shirt. SIize XL
• 14 Oz Type 3 OD Jacket. Size XL
• 18 Oz Vintage OD CPO Jacket. Size XL

Other dimensions I did not measure as these 3 dimensions were the ones that I was hoping for a little further shrinkage in.

Iron Heart crew ts me again I need your advice the 2nd jacket came today and its 1 size bigger how does it fit compared to the 1st jacket can't keep them both unfortunately your advice is truly appreciated.
