Mizmazzle’s Trip Across the Pond
-
The last part of our England leg was along the South coast. My friends live in Chudleigh Knighton. Beautiful little country hamlet and minutes from the coast!
Spent the day on their boat and along the “English Riviera!” (This may have been the downfall of my back as the nerve incident happened the day before)
The sunset view from The Brit’s property with a view of Dartmoor National Park in the distance.
Leonard the Cat.

North Scotland Highlands.
I haven’t been able to hike the full sections yet but today marked a huge improvement for me. Was able to do some smaller local hikes of about 2.5 miles. Think I’m going for it tomorrow!! Here’s some great shots from today’s journey. This place is incredible.Bridge of Orchy
Kinghouse
Venison dinner and a few new pours to sample. My favorite of the bunch was the Macallan.
The hand pull cask beers are also quite good!!
Can’t wait for tomorrow!!

@Mizmazzle Great to see you out there!
-
@Mizmazzle cask beers are so good!! Which one did you like more?
-
Dunno if they still do it, but there was a place in Denver that used to have live ale on those manual taps/kegs that was decent. Pints pub iirc? Also a pretty impressive single malt collection.
Glad to see you still had some fun while you weren't feeling great but also even happier to see you out on the trail.

@SKT it really was. But I like that peety, smokiness profile in scotch. Gives it that unique taste. I’ll be looking for that in whichever bottle I find to bring home.
@Danimal506 they were both really good. But I preferred the dark ale. Richer, full bodied and so smooth.

@pechelman thanks bro! Feeling good this morning so I’m gonna do the hike today. It’s too beautiful not to give it my best!
-
@Mizmazzle Yea an ale on cask is something special. IPA would be interesting too
-
Great you're doing better @Mizmazzle. The fotos are wonderful, esp the last one. Enjoy nature's beauty and the tastes of the scottish whiskys.
-
@Mizmazzle Great to hear. Sounds like the Ben Nevis is within reach again

Hey folks!! I’ve recovered surprisingly quickly for how intensely my back had laid me up. It might have been pushing it to risk jumping in on the hike with Morgan and the Brits…but I decided to roll the dice and so glad I did. I kept the ibuprofen and stretches in place, lightened the load in my pack and hit the trail. Had to do it. Who knows if or when I’ll be back to this part of the world!!
Kingshouse to Kinlochleven (bonus it was a sunny day)
Beers at the end of a 9 mile day.
Kinlochleven to Ft. William was the big day. 15 miles on the trail and it was a wet one. I loved the sunny day prior, but now I felt like we were actually in Scotland!!
Morgan and Becca thought they saw a single midge flying about and didn’t want to risk it…
We made it to the end!!
