IH-526SV - 21oz Selvedge Denim Modified Type III Vest - Indigo (w/ Pockets)
-
Would anyone have any suggestions for sizing?
I normally wear a size Small in Iron Heart work shirts and a size Small in Iron Heart sweatshirt hoodies.
Looking for a good layering vest and have been looking at size Medium for layering based off of measurements.
Is it a good general rule of thumb to go up 1 size for layering in these vests?
I prefer to wear them closed than open.I own the 14oz Type 3 jacket in a size Small (36) and am only able to wear it with a t shirt, How would this vest differ from that?
Thanks. -
Hey @rag499
I think a medium is def going to be the best size to try initially for buttoned layering given the information you have provided.
You can always give the p2p of your 14oz Type 3 a measure using our how we measure guide so you know what that measures and then use that as a base point to work off of, if you need bigger than that then you can use the chart to make sure that you do not select the tag size that is the same or smaller.

Vests have been a staple in my wardrobe for MANY years. Never had one of this quality though. This is an exquisite piece in the 21oz. I love the attention to detail with the taped arm holes and felled seams throughout. Look forward to pitting this one through the wringer.

@ShopatIronHeart
When are these likely to be restocked? -
@Squarepeg I am sorry to report that these are not on the production schedule at this time.

@Graham
That’s a shame.
Thank you for letting me know -
Guys..
I tracked one DOWN!
The Shop Vancouver had one size large left. They measured the chest and shoulders for me and I thought it might work.
I think it did. What do you guys think?
I can even do up the buttons up with my thickest (Ironheart) hoody underneath.
It's definitely shorter than my 21oz 526PJ but I think thats how these vests are intended to fit. It rests below my belt so I think I'm still okay.
When I bought said 526PJ, I wanted to wear it all the time. It's the perfect jacket imo, but maybe not because it gets too hot here in the summer. I stumbled on this thread and it was like EUREKA!
Will post more once I've had a chance to gather thoughts. One thing I can say is I've never had a vest before and had fricken clue what I was missing!!!

@Jett129 A UHF AND Hoody is intense! I want to try this later. When it gets cooler I could definitely layer the crap out of my 526PJ. My original intention was to just wear a t-shirt underneath during summer months. But seeing how nice and comfortable that hoody was makes this a much more versatile piece than I originally thought.
Very happy over here!
