Yesterday we drove to summer cottage near Parkano.

catched our dinner pretty soon. Didn't have scale but approx. 1 kilo.

On a related point.  When I was about 8, I was fishing for Perch at the local reservoir.  I hooked one, and as I was reeling it in, it was grabbed by a very large Pike.  There then ensued about a 15 minute battle with the rod bent double, line being stripped off the reel and all sorts of watery commotion.  At last the Pike let go and I reeled in a tiny Perch (with mighty teeth marks around its girth).  At this point one of the crowd who had gathered to watch this monster battle, shrugged his shoulders and said "Huh, it's only a little one"….....

Had a bit of a family tragedy a few days ago and decided to say fuck it, book a trip to Kauai, and check out of regular life for the next 10 days.
