@MSav32323 The OD is looking sweet with SF as the backdrop; great pictures!!! How are you liking it so far?

@Nostradamion It's so killer... The fabric is everything you'd hope for from an OD. It makes me want the OD CPO, but I'm slapping myself for even getting this (totally worth it). The Indigo CPO will more than suffice, though:)

@MSav32323 Nice, that's great to hear!! Mine still hasn't shipped out yet, so I'm living vicariously though you and anyone else who received their OD jacket. It looks like it's the best of all worlds with tons of fading potential. Can't wait for mine to get here!!

Those who have this jacket in OD-version: how is the sizing? Just wondering because there is a 3 inch difference between S and M sizes in pit-to-pit measurement.

@Miiks I typically wear a size large in UHF, and classic indigo, but with OD I almost always go up a size due to the process OD goes through. I got an XL in this, and the sleeves are slightly long, and the shoulders are ever so slightly wide. But both of those things will resolve on their own with wear. I’d say if you go up one size from your usual you’ll most likely be good. You could also call Selfedge and request measurements of what they have on hand, and try your luck there. That way you’ll know exactly what you’re gonna get. That is, if they have stock available of course.

the more pictures of this I see, especially the OD, the more it looks like the baby denim love child of 18oz and 16slb.

Inaugural wear on the Type 3 OD. This is my first IH Type 3 and it fits different than other non-IH Type 3 jackets I own, quite a bit more narrow through the sleeves and the body when buttoned, almost like a shirt cut. Anyone else find this to be the case or is this common with the IH Type 3? The fit will take some getting used to, but man, it's a beaut!

@SonnyTheElder my conclusion on iron heart sizing is that it is perfect and very well thought out. I find for myself and my preference of fit I can get away with anything from a large to a XXL depending on just how well fitted I would like it to look. Non of the measurements typically jump too far up or down between sizes, so you can do a number of different fits between sizes and still be sure the item looks great. Knowing you numbers (measurements you like) is the key.

IMO that jacket looks awesome! And will stretch out a bit and in time you’ll likely be able to get a UHF under it comfortably!

@SonnyTheElder in my experience the OD ones are the slimmest probably because all the shrinkage of the fabric has been obtained, for the rest it depends a lot on the fabric and also on the batch, for the same size the two largest are the 526pj and the 526 21oz SBG, the shortest is the 2526j 17oz and the most adherent are the 86 14oz b/b and the 526j-slbOD.

Hey Yall, Just got in my indigo and with measurements listed on SE I landed on the XXL (also have the IJH-86-BLK Black XXL 44 that fits perf for reference). IT fits almost just right, I can wear with a shirt but more often than not with a flannel and the extended length on the jacket compliments that as well. Issue is im not sure if this is a break in / settling in from being folded and shipped but, its feels just ever so slightly raised in the shoulders like a "bump". Or since the sleeves are about an inch too long if that is causing the fabric to bunch up in the shoulder.

We these issues break in over time as the denim drapes and forms? Will a soak prove beneficial? The change from xxl to xl in shoulder is over an inch at 19.75 to 18.5 which terrifies me while the sleeve change is only 17.5 to 17.25

Any help would be appreciated its a beautiful jacket and feels great.

                              Cheers,

I think it’ll stop being as much of an issue as it breaks in over time, and also that a soak would be beneficial!

@Gianny-Boy As @Buckeye says, once you begin to wear it in, I think the issues you're having will ease. You'll get combs in the arms which will reduce the sleeve length a touch and the shoulder 'bumps' you mention will set in.

I would wear it a little bit and try not to worry too much, then give it a soak once you're down the line. It can be tempting to do something radical at the start with washing but if you do it progressively, you're less likely to bugger it up

The devil is in the detail..
