OrSlow

@Chibs this is a really great look, you are rocking it with your posts. I haven't invested in some fatigue pants yet (have nice M&S cargos for now). Been contemplating pulling the trigger on oslow fatigues. Went over to Jp site last night and sold out in size 3 doh!
-
@Chibs I really like them a lot! The fabric is quite unique … a certain heft to it, but I think it’ll wear much cooler than denim. I also really love the color too. I git the khaki and the black fatigues, as well as the shirt.
Thanks again to you for opening my eyes to this brand! I’ll be adding some slim fit fatigues next time around, although I really like how the regular fit wear. The button fly is super cool.

@Brandrea
Yea, they definitely wear cooler than jeans! Especially my 21oz stuff. I really like the slim fit. Not a true slim fit at all though. Fits like 501’s, maybe a bit baggier actually, but probably because I have to cuff the bottoms as they’re a bit too long. I would try on first if you have a brick and mortar store near you. Luckily I have a few near here.
Now that you got the fatigue shirt, what are your thoughts in comparison to the Filson Jac-shirt? -
@Chibs thanks for this. I've been looking at the size chart and size 4 might do the trick, I like around a 34 waist, more concerned about baggy butt issues and potential stretch?
-
@Niney For reference, I’m a 33 in Levi’s and 35 in iron heart. Had I bought size 3, they would have probably stretched a bit but I favour comfortability and these things are jogging pants level! Besides the waist being tight, I liked the way 4 draped better too. Not sure if that helps.
-
@Chibs this really helps! Appreciate your help!
-
Thank you for that. I hope to try them on here (Blue Button in Toronto carries the brand). My only reservation on the slim fit was the hem … I like a wider opening but these aren’t too restrictive really … your Levi’s comparison is very helpful.
As for the shirt, I love this thing (wearing it today as a matter of fact). The OrSlow fatigue shirt has a nice almost “nepy” feel to it, and I just love the color … I was really hoping for that deep dark brown/black color that comes out in your photos and that’s exactly what it is! My only complaint with the OrSlow shirt is the opening … it’s huge (size 4 in the shirt and the pants ). I’m an XXL in IH UHF’s and 35 in 21oz 634’s (34 in 666). I may take it to my tailor to see if she can bring it in around the body a touch but understanding it’s supposed to be a boxy fit I may just have to get used to it.
As for the Filson shirt-Jac,… it’s spot on, wouldn’t change a thing. The fabric is smooth and just feels awesome to wear. The color is gorgeous too (and I'm not really a “green guy” lol. The sleeve length and the shoulders and body length are just perfect (for me).
I’d better not look at too many more of your posts … it was an expensive week
They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery …. Hope you don’t mind:)

@Brandrea that’s awesome! I’m in Toronto too and got my original green pair of slim fit fatigue pants from Blue Button shop. Also got my Buz Rickson shirt there. Really nice staff! The 4 of them watched me waver between a medium and large in that Rickson shirt for over a half hour. They all convinced me to get the large and were totally right in the end. If they don’t have stock you can also check out Uncle Otis on Spadina. They normally have a bunch of Orslow stuff too. Nothing close to Withered Fig if you don’t mind customs fees.
Interesting about the shirt being too big, mine fits perfect in size 2. Even a bit better than the Filson but that’s probably splitting hairs. Either way, glad you like em! Very expensive week indeed. Got my 526PJ and eyeballing that Self edge CPOGoing to try my best to resist on Saturday

@Chibs
Great to see you’re from Toronto! I’m actually from outside the city near Waterloo Ontario (St Jacobs), but I get into the city every now and then.I ended up buying from Whithered Fig since they had all the sizes and colors I wanted. I also picked up the fatigue shorts as well. In the end it was actually less expensive than buying in Canada even with the customs .. go figure. You’re right about Blue Button, they’re fantastic. I bought my IH M65 there last fall.
Resistance is futile
-
@Chibs I think you’d like them … they’re based on the slim fit fatigue top block!
-
@Chibs @Brandrea Great to see some local Toronto and Southern Ontario boys geek out on Orlsow. I'm in Toronto as well.
I really like my Orlsow fatigue pants (Green and Khaki) and just added the green fatigue shirt like you boys. Black fatigue pants will be next for me.
Very under rated brand IMO.
Cheers.

I'm trying to decide between the straight cut and the slim straight olive fatigues, anyone tried both on and have a preference? My favorite IH cut is the 634 so I was wary of the slim straights at first just because of the name, but they don't look that slim to me at all.
-
@freepickin not sure if he is super active on the forum at the momenf but I know pal (@popvulture ) has owned both slim and regular
-
@freepickin I have tried both. The slims are like Levi’s 501’s. The straight cut would definitely be baggier than your 634s.
-
Okay so this forum is great! Every so often I click on “unread topics” and this morning upon doing just that, I saw a bunch of Orslow stuff for sale. Including a basically new pair of fatigue shorts in my size and the colour I wanted. I met with Rob @labrat who turns out to be a very cool guy!
Both if us wearing 21oz type 3’s! His is the vest.
Tried them on and they fit effing perfect. Better than I thought!
These are my new favourite shorts! So comfortable just like the fatigue pants we know and love. Thanks again @labrat!! -
@Chibs They were made for you , looking good my 526 twin
-
I wasn’t sure which way to go either but settle on the regular fit. The hem on the regulars is around 9”and the slim is around 7.75”.
I think either would work really, but for me it came down to which ones I could wear with my boots.

@freepickin @Chibs I have both and agree with Jordan. Personally, I think the slim fit is more flattering. Though these days, everything’s big and oversized—can’t go wrong with either!
