Gardening, landscaping and plants in general
-
I planted a few citrus plants this year in my yard.
This one is we locally call ‘limon sutil’ (translates to subtle, not sure why) but is more widely known as Peruvian lime.
At any rate, they ripen to a strong yellow color and are nearly perfect spheres. Outstanding on drinks and also on fish dishes.
This plant is only 60 cm tall and this one is the first fruit it has produced! -

Beautiful flower pic @Mister_Brue !

The best these roses bloom is from about 2 weeks ago to the middle of June when the heat and Japanese beetles get them.

All taken in my yard this morning.

@SFMCfranky Lovely flowers. First one is a great color.
-
Thanks,
It’s from that green succulent behind it. It only produces a few flowers a year on long, spindly stalks. But they’re stunning. -
@SFMCfranky Beautiful bearded Iris.
-
@twin that is a beautiful plant! Remember seeing it and gawking when I saw it my first time in college. Japanese maple? I think?
-
Thanks,
I can’t take any credit. They were here when I bought the place. There aren’t that many and they don’t bloom for long. But they sure put on a show when they do. -
@SFMCfranky My first iris of the year flowered yesterday:
Yours reminds me of an amazing collection I saw at Sissinghurst a couple of years ago.
-
Beautiful!

Beauties! Are they lilies?
I find they somewhat resemble orchids. 3 sepals, 3 petals, the lower petal is a highly modified petal. Anyone think so too? Or am I imagining things? -

@SFMCfranky Nice! What a pure yellow. Is this a flag? Since we’re on the subject, the latest to flower:
-
What a beautiful purple!
I’m not sure what the variety of these yellow ones are. A friend planted them next to my pool decades ago and they’ve thrived there ever since.
