The pickup when he’s happy to see me and the drop off when he’s sad to see me leave is fine it’s the actual loathing of the driving there and parking that’s all
Feel lucky if they want you to put them to bed
Jacobs 8 and apart from a story in bed I’m then literally pushed out the door with a quick see you in the morning ( which is his code for I will wake you up at 6am no matter what time you went to bed ) -
@bluemantra Hell yea brother! It’s a trip for sure
I came home after a ten hour day in construction and an attempted house viewing, to my son clinging to my leg and making my carry him around the apartment like an ankle bracelet
And then he begins “dad big jump!” And I had to moon bounce him around the apartment for the next half hour. Doing 30lb squat/chest presses hahah The best

@SKT dude I think about this all the time. We actually have a game we play. He knows that someday he’s gonna be too big and there will be a last time I pick him up. So every day when I get him out of bed for breakfast, we check in to see if this time will be the last time. He’s four so we have some time left still. But tbh the way time flies by probably not as much as we think. But this way at least we won’t miss it when it happens. And now I’m all up in my feels

Today was my little boys 3rd birthday, so we drove down to the San Antonio Zoo for the morning and then spent the afternoon at his favorite playground
The dirt bike is a new toy that he carried around the entire day!
That was his first time on a carousel and it was a huge hit!
Too hot for any denim today lol

Happy bday to him! Sounds like a heck of a fun day

My boys turned 7 and 9 over the last couple of weeks. Since last year, I've made it a tradition to all go on a week long holiday (we went to Marocco last year - I think I posted some pictures)
This year, we went to Ibiza. The week went by like crazy, and I got filled with so many emotions I could barely keep track.
They are still my baby boys, but I can see and feel them growing older. I still put my 7y old on my shoulders during walks every time he asks me too because I know that one day, it'll be the last time. Same with bedtime stories and all the other little things. -
@GraemeE man, I look forward to the day my little guys are self sufficient enough to even babysit themselves with TV while we sleep in. We’re still in the crack of dawn, get their little asses up, wipe those asses, and try to feed them while getting screamed at for giving them a blue bowl instead of a yellow one phase

@chillmonroe typically one of us still has to be "up" ( turns out 5 year olds have shitty judgment/impulse control if left to their own) but if we can stream a show we can be in zombie mode with tea or coffee until we actually wake up
-
@GraemeE ah. Yeah we do that for sure. Four and two year old here. Although the oldest requires Transformers (from the 1980s only, dad win right there) and the youngest requires Ms Rachel. So we either set em up in different rooms or put Transformers on the big screen and give the little one the phone while we make breakfast and caffeinate

Ms Rachel
Simultaneously the best and the worst
Works like a tranquilizer dart though
