Just one pair of jeans and one denim shirt and I’ll wear them non stop and:

      1. Maximize cost per wear
      2. Own fewer, better things
      3. They will get maximum fades
      4. Actually be saving money in the end on two well made garments.

In the easy chair with my boots on, melted whiskey in my hand. Could'na been asleep for more than three hours...time to go to work again...

A very familiar story. People (who can) seem to be able to justify our prices for jeans/pants, but baulk at the price of shirts. I have said to so many people over the years, yeah they are fucking expensive, so if you cant rationalise that, then that's cool, don't buy one, because if you do you'll likely buy shit loads.

        Guess what?

I had a shirt first...33B...the price seemed insane at the time. But it was so beautifully designed that nothing else compared. Next came some 21oz 888 ODs....then very very rapidly and about 1-4 times a month ever since...rationalize I can...and do....

But I have just realised that is like telling a man to not touch the piece of metal which has been in the fire for hours to see how hot it is....:-)

I think my first shirt was a 352-BLU. Came through the post and very quickly realised that it was far and away better than all my other shirts by RRL, Pendleton, Filson etc.. Put all of those in a joblot auction on eBay and ordered an untucked and a kersey with the money from those. They came thick and fast after that 😂
I tried a few from UES recently but sleeve length doesn’t work for me after wearing Iron Heart. The only two non IH branded shirts that have stuck around are a Flat Head dobby and an Orslow US army

@Giles my first IH piece was a shirt from the outlet. Smart move, I only have 11 shirts 😂

@Mizmazzle rationalising is rational – otherwise we’d have to ration our shirt purchases (just counted 22 but can beat it down to under 20 if CPOs are a separate category).

@Mizmazzle I don’t have any IH ones but have heavyweight tees from other brands - no doubt they’re a different category to regular tees!

I remember when I first discovered IH and I thought I would only be buying pants

I guess we're all going down the same road.
