Hey y’all, long time lurker, seldom poster. I’ve got a few UHFs and a couple pairs of jeans but this is my first overdyed thing and I’m SUPER pumped on it. Had it since Dec 13 and been wearing it daily. Some of y’all’s fades look killer and I’m wondering how often I should plan to wash it? Once a month? Once every two months?

@chillmonroe when it needs it is the best answer. I wash them if they’re dirty.

@chillmonroe the beauty of the whole thing is that the fades begin to reflect your lifestyle so wash when you feel it needs it.
My personal process was 2 washes the first 250 wears or so and monthly washing the second 250 days -

@natefreezy ib all day for me and inevitably when the classic indigo version comes out I’ll grab that one too.
This fabric gets so buttery soft you can’t go wrong with either honestly. -
@Davids_denim I’ve been wondering how much this will soften. You’ve got a lot of time vested into yours. Mine is so new still and rather stiff. Has yours lost all its stiffness?

@Mizmazzle it still gets stiff for a week or so after a wash but it’s definitely pretty soft, especially in the worn in areas.

@indigostiff I've worn these 21oz 555 about 90% of the time since June. Even mowed in them twice like an idiot trying to get something to happen lol. Two washes.

@CosmoSix5 They look good! How many wears? And here I am, wearing my 33oz. Sosos at wear 70 with no washes, thinking Mar 17 is a long, long ways away to get to 150 wears...

After seeing the posts with people wearing their ib under denim jackets I went that route this am in lieu of the N1. Paired with the thermal I'm all set evening the 20's. For short distances lol

Had a bit of a situation with mine a few days ago. I grabbed a spray bottle of water to help set the creases and immediately felt a weird warm sensation on my left arm. Felt the spray bottle and the water was cold so immediately was like “that’s not water.”
Immediately put my arm under cold water till it was soaked, then threw it in the tub to soak submerged in cold water.
Turns out it was bleach. The bottle was labeled water and I have long covid so I couldn’t smell it. Just glad I figured it out and took action immediately. Could have been a LOT worse. As a result the left inner arm is just slightly lighter than the right. Good times. But hey maybe once I fade it all the way down it’ll balance out. Still super thankful to have gotten one of the last two of these in my size. Rather than be bummed about it, I’m looking at it like it’s just part of the story of the evolution of the fade.
