@cmccrumm. From my experience not every 19L has the same leg twist. I have 2 pairs. The one that I washed with hot water has significantly more leg twist than the one that has only seen cold watet. So if you want to minimize leg twist cold water is your friend. In my only cold washed pair the leg twist is minimal.

              First pair of lefty's.

Had to return a pair of 777's to find the right fit as I'm often in between cuts/sizes. Very thankful for Iron Heart's customer service & "no quibble" return policy. Fit is comfortable & looks decent

19oz Left Hand Twill has been likened to the legendary 25oz XHS which is what drew me towards it. After finally getting into a pair I can see why. The denim is stiff with a rough hand & smooth face. It almost looks double-dipped in Indigo because the weft is tucked away in a very tight weave. Of course, the leg twist is quite extra on the right leg.

Fade potential on these lefties look superb! Gonna rock stacks & keep them dry long as possible. cheers, fam

                Hello everyone,
Which 888 has the most enormous fading potential? I have the 19 oz left, the 16 oz slubby and the 25 oz XHS to choose from. Durability also plays a role in my decision. The 19 oz version seems to be very tightly woven compared to XHS, which means it will last longer, or am I mistaken? The 19 oz L also seems to be deeply soaked in indigo, which means it will fade. It is undisputed that the 25 oz fades well and this can be clearly seen in the pictures in the forum. Heddels always shows pictures of good fading with slubby denim. This seems to be a new weave at IH. What are your experiences with this? I look forward to your answers to help me make my decision.

@Iron_Geert The most contrasting fades are generally considered to be within the IB iterations of any jeans, in particular the 25oz! you will also see great fading potential across the board and in particular the 19L's.. Both the 19L and XHS are equally as durable and very hard-wearing. The most useful way of seeing how our jeans can potentially fade is by checking out or examples within our 'Hall of Fades' which can be found by clicking here. I hope this all helps! While visiting Arborator in Haarlem last weekend I noticed this model and couldn't help myself and had to try a size 33. Needless to say I was sold so I can call myself the proud owner of another 19oz ironheart denim, next to my 526Lod jacket. The Lod denim is even tougher than the non overdyed denim.

Probably a dumb question here, but I recently got the 888 19oz IH and love them, but the indigo bleed is REAL :). I’m debating on doing an initial cold soak just to scale the bleed back a little bit so I don’t continue to make everything around me seem like a member of the blue man group was hanging around. Is this a dumb idea that will “ruin” the denim and future fades, etc., or will this likely just result in less indigo bleed but fades, etc. will still develop just fine?

Not dumb at all IMO. It won't ruin the denim or the fades, but I don't know how much it will tame any crocking. I did a blazing hot hand soak of my pair before wearing to squeeze out some shrink, and they still leave indigo in the usual places, shoes, hem of shirts, jackets, etc. They still evolve just fine after some wear.

Washing will stop crocking more than soaking. A cold soak, as others say, is unlikely to really achieve much in terms of croc prevention

@Alex For washing vs. soaking, is there a "risk" to doing this, or would it possibly just take away a bit of the color and prevent some crocking? Ultimately, it sounds like the answer is to embrace it and bring a towel with me to sit on if I'm on light upholstery 🙂
