@m4xime more taper from the knee on the 888 and also longer rise on the 888,to me very much a 633 is a 634 with a nice taper you only get the stronger taper if the hem is not hemmed

@Mindfulbiscuit makes complete sense. I also have to size up 666 to make them work in the thighs but then the waist gets to wide. So I don't bother with those anymore and stick with 633/4 and 888. Interested in trying the 1955 though - any experience with them?

If you are a 634/33/888 guy the 1955 will work also. It has a high rise like the 888 and maybe a bit higher and the taper is similar to the 633 I think, as the knee measurement of the 1955 is wider than the 888.

@yannis yeah I like the 555 fit better than the 666 I size up to a 33 which helps thigh and calf and 777 the same thing 33 is Perry on me in the low style

@m4xime that’s a better bet I really like the 888 they have a great taper but still comfortable, I really like this cut but t rise is on the low side for me but I like the taper,on the other hand I do like to try different fits to make my denim experiences more interesting

@Mindfulbiscuit Thanks that's useful to know. I'm looking for something between my PBJ XX013 and the 3Sixteen CS-100X so comparing lots of measurements I think the 888 might be best for me. Will go to R&H when they have a restock and try them on and see

@m4xime . I don't know how the 3Sixteen fits but the PBJ xx013 is miles different from the 888. The PBJ is must slimer though out the whole leg for the same tag size. Also the xx013 has a lowish rise... The 888 is also looser fitting than the xx019 also which is PBJ version of a higher rise taper.

@yannis Yes you're 100% correct, I don't want to derail this thread too much but below is the difference between the PBJ and 3S and I think the IH 888 will be somewhere in the middle essentially

The best advice I can give you is, measure both pairs the Iron Heart way and then compare the measurements to the 888 chart for the tag size that you are looking into getting. The Iron Heart size chart are very accurate. You can always email the Iron Heart crew and they can find you an 888 with your ideal measurements or as close as.possible.

The 555 is an option as long as you clear handle the slim leg and taper to the knee. They have the tightest knee measurement than any other iron heart cut. The cool thing about the 888 is that you can sizedown and still have good leg room. If the waist fits you on the 888 you will have no issue anywhere else.

@bluemantra I’ve gotten 2 pairs of 633s from self edge. I just shot them a message and they were super helpful with sizing. I have some 888s and the waist on mine are about an inch smaller to start than my 633s. And I’m pretty sure these are just the 634 with a tapered leg.

As these are a self edge exclusive, all sizing inquires regarding the IH-633 should be to self edge for sizing questions.

To elaborate a bit. Kiya from Self Edge wanted a cut that was 634 in the top block, but with more taper to the cuff. We made it and called it the 633. It is exclusive to Self Edge. Unlike the jeans we stock, we do not measure each production run, so do not know what the measurements actually are on these from run to run.

Also be aware that Self Edge measure jeans differently from us.
