IH-888-XHSib - 25oz Selvedge Denim Medium/High Rise Tapered Cut Jeans - Ind/blk

After buying these from the IH website back in March, I am finally ready to start wearing them. I wanted to fade my 634XHS for a full year before starting these 888s. I had money at the time and they were in stock, and since I have had them on ice since last spring. I don't think I've ever waited this long to start a pair.
I'll be wearing these in rotation with the pair of 888UHR I picked up while in Gosport last month. Instead of just going a year on one pair, I'm going to plan on wearing both pairs for two years.
I've had this pair of 888XHSib on for just a couple of hours and already my creases are set quite nicely. I'll be going for stacks with a single cuff, which I have tried before but never fully committed to. Of all pairs to stack, with the way these fade, it was the obvious choice.
I looked back to my pair of 555XHSib posts I wore back in 2019 and was inspired by the walk down forum memory lane. I then jumped over here to read through these posts. So nice to see Filthy so passionate about his love for these jeans. I thoroughly enjoyed reading these posts over the past week or so. I love this denim so much.
I wanted to get the shrink completely out of the way, so I hot soaked these with the hottest tap water in my bathtub, inside out. Then straight to the washing machine (front loader) on hot for a full cotton cycle. Drip dried over the tail end of last weekend. Ready for today. No unsightly washer fades, no streaks, all dark and awesome. They feel amazing.
Edit: I forgot to add, I wanted to wait until Halloween as a start date to make it more fun.

@yannis That is awesome that you have that pair of his. That pair was awesome and I remember seeing his posts as he was making them and fading those jeans. I am going to go through those posts too and read through those. One of my favorite things to do is read through old posts of a product I'm psyched on.
I feel fortune to have purchased his indigo T3 corduroy jacket, an indigo shirt he dyed and his indigo kersey western.

@ Oaktavia. That is awesome man. I also go back and read those posts. I also have his 634's SR. He never wore them but he had the crazy post of how he boiled them to get all shrinkage out. He was a great guy. Glad you have some of his pieces.

@Oaktavia Which pair are you more psyched for the XHSib or the UHR. After getting my first pair of 888s I'm now considering a second pair of 888s.

@GardenState I absolutely love the both! But if I had to choose one over the other it would be the XHSib. My first pair of Iron Hearts was a pair of 555XHSib and I have always loved this denim.

@Oaktavia I've always loved the XHSib. Something about how dark and inky the denim is when it's new and how bright and contrasty the stitching is. They're not in stock otherwise I'd be making a poor financial decision right now
And holy crap those UHR are fading fast!

@GardenState Yup exactly why I love the XHSib so much. It's just so awesome all around. Hopefully when they are in stock you can snag one.
Yeah, my first pair of new UHR. I've had a few second hand pairs. Always told on her they fade fast and I have not been disappointed.

You're blazing those uhr's @Oaktavia going to be great to see what you do with the indigo black. Cool to have Mike's memory with all this too. I like the stacks too, I wore my uhr with stacks yesterday and enjoyed it.
The key for fading quickly for me I think is long hour days of each wear, 15-16 hours each time.
Mike and I had super similar tastes in denim. We used to talk about it at length and as much as I miss that, at least a lot of his thoughts are recorded on here.
I like stacks and prefer the stack/single cuff. Gotta have at least a little cuff imo. But at the same time it's just easier to have the Tokyo turn up as they slip on and off easier. That's what I'll keep doing with my UHR

@Oaktavia Hey bud , Same bought another pair back in March 555XHSIb still tucked away in my drawer thinking of doing the same rotation between 2 New pairs of XHS in the New year the XHSib and the XHSBB or been thinking of sticking with my XHS for another 6months / year to see what 2 years of wear looks like. Never really worn a pair longer then 1 year ..

There's like some psychic denimhead mind alignment going on here man. It feels awesome to put on a new pair of XHSib. Especially remembering how rad they are to fade like did a few years ago. It would be super cool to see you fade two new pairs of XHS. With the way we both fade our pairs and how long we wear our denim each day. Would be rad to fade two at a time see where we go. Photograph both pairs at the same time with updates. Good to hear from you homie.

Right on man I will definitely be posting progress on here. It'll be a little slower than usual because I'm putting effort into fading to pairs at once this go around.
That's cool you started the 555-142ii, such an awesome denim. I have a pair of that denim cut into shorts. It's got such awesome and richly saturated colors.
