@cityofdelusion looks exactly how I would want it. Maybe the smaller one would have even better sleeves but sacrificing everything else would not benefit the mobility. And after all this is a jacket that You can take hiking or skiing.

For me, the fit of any winter jacket has to accommodate layering and that usually means the chest, shoulders and body have to feel comfortable with what I want to wear under it. Unfortunately, sometimes other sacrifices sometimes have to be made.

Yours looks like the right fit to me. How does it feel?

Thank you for your feedback. Indeed, it looks like how yours fits you which is how it should fit I'm guessing.

This is what I was thinking as well. Going with XS would be too risky in many ways and I'm not sure if it's worth the risk here.

@AdamJ Thank you mate, it's always a challenge to know what fits well and what doesn't, especially when it's a new (to me) fabric, cut, model etc.

@Brandrea It seems that many of those who bought this jacket (or more specifically, it's brother, the IHJ-75) tend to not layer with this jacket and therefore go for a more fitted size. Since I want to be able to wear 2-3 layers beneath this jacket (mainly since it would be too cold indoor when taking off the jacket and only having a T-Shirt beneath it), I also sized mainly taking the room in the chest, shoulders and body into account.

I described the fit a little more in my previous post, but in short, there is nothing that bothers me enough to be annoyed or whatsoever, it's just that I'm unsure if a better fit could be achieved. So far, the consensus seems to be that this is the one.

@cityofdelusion I think you chose well.

In my very humble opinion, this jacket or jackets like this are function over form. Luckily they still look good even if you size up. Benefits of a good pattern.

Thank you all again for your feedback regarding the fit @Karol, @AdamJ, @Brandrea, @Mister_Brue. I've decided to keep it, and I'm very excited to find out if I'll be (even more) satisfied with my purchase in the long run. And thank you, @Shaun (now I can tag you since you have an account), for measuring the two different sizes for me prior to my purchase and your assistance in general.

My next step is to explore the jacket a bit more as well as how it behaves in different conditions and document my experiences here regularly whenever possible.

A few notes from my first impressions of the jacket:

                      • So far, it feels like the jacket is wearing me rather than me wearing the jacket 😅 But I'm assuming that the more I use it, the more pliable it'll get even though only synthetic materials were used in the jacket's production.

                      • The added dual-/top-entry pockets in this iteration area absolutely great, and obviously the main highlight of this updated version and why I bought this version. All these various pockets on this iteration are super useful.

                      • When zipping up the jacket, there are 2-3 thicker/bulging areas where the fabric is sewn together and leads to the zipper "getting caught" for the lack of a better description, hence disrupting a smooth zipping experience, but I'm sure I'll get used to doing it properly after I zip and unzip the jacket more frequently.

                      • The point of being able to close the side-entry pockets with velcro AND snap buttons provides a bit more security. However, the velcro can get a bit annoying and in the way if you have to access that pocket more frequently which leads me to my next point:

                      • I'm worried that with a jacket this durable that could potentially last a lifetime, if the Velcro used in this jacket in general as well as in the most frequently used areas (such as for example in the sleeves to tighten the cuffs or as said in my previous point, the side-entry pockets) wouldn't get worn down and require replacement much quicker than the rest of the jacket? Nevertheless, even though in the grand scheme of things, replacing the Velcros on the jacket wouldn't be costly or difficult to do, it's still something I try to be mindful about about whenever I acess the Velcro.

                      • I put the jacket on with only a T-Shirt beneath it, even zipped the jacket up and I did NOT sweat at all indoors. The heat regulation and breathability seems to be great, but I still need to test it's warming abilities in the colder temperatures which is obviously its purpose. More on all that will follow in a future update though after I've worn the jacket a bit more frequently in various weather conditions.

...Oh - and that eVent "tag" (more like booklet) could be a bit bigger. It's not big enough yet! 😂

@Alex The newly added two dual entry waist pockets (top entry) in this iteration of the jacket has a micro fleece (?) like lining, probably intended to act as hand warmers. This should be in the description of the product page since it's a really nice (and cozy) feature of this jacket which I'm not sure if the IHJ-75 also had or not - maybe in a different pocket since the IHJ-75 doesn't have the newly added pocket that this has?

Also wanted to add that the link at the bottom of this page doesn't take to the IHJ-138 product page ever since it was released.

The cap of the main zipper pull came off on my jacket when pulling on it to close the jacket - didn't even yank on it whatsoever. How can I fix this?

@cityofdelusion it looks like it supposed to have a pinch point inside the clasp. if you can pry it open and slide the 2 ends back in deeper than they were and snap it shut it should be fixed. If the ends don't want to go in due to fray, twist them or hit them real gently with a lighter to get rid of the frays.
