Yea he knew, it was there for quite a while it seems. He even updated the Mantis on how many outs there were!
-
@Danimal506 that’s amazing. Haha. Love that story.
-
@Mizmazzle Yea what a fun moment! Haha

My Mom and Aunt are in town, so we visited the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. Lots of insects to be seen! Here are a couple highlights
Not an insect but this critter came out from the water and went into the garden

We went on a nice family trip to the Wildflower Center today. This time I brought my Fuji X100F along.
-
@Danimal506 some great shots. Such vibrant color
-
@SKT Thank you! The Fuji is a great and easy to use camera. It was tough to keep focus with the breeze blowing, but the camera did well.
-
@Danimal506 Very nice pics.
-
@twin thank you!

@Danimal506 Welcome to you.

Woodland Dor Beetle
Bit difficult to photograph on the woodland floor…
-
This bastard was waiting in the bathroom at the campsite for someone to not be paying attention.
Caught this guy hanging out above my laundry room on a windy night.

myriapod
Oh cool, that's a nice word too. Rolls off the tongue. And yeah, insects = 6 legz.
Also, I just looked this species and according to this article, "there have been only six confirmed sightings of the species in West Virginia: Three in Pocahontas County between 1963 and 1972, one in Mercer County in 1971, one in Monongalia County in 1972, and one in Nicholas County (date unknown)." So that is pretty amazing actually. I have seen them over the past three springs and summers here in WV in our gardens. I would say I have seen at least half a dozen, maybe more. I wonder if it is because we are just over the border from Maryland. The article states that this myriapod exclusively eats fungus. A fungus eating myriapod. Amazing.
