Thanks again everyone for the kind words and very helpful advice along the way here. I’ll be sure to keep the thread updated as he makes progress in his Iron Heart 888s…he’s already eyeballing the fades on my jeans like life goals for his own Haha.

@ARNC it’s pretty funny because he and I are so much alike. We tend to end up with alot of the same gear based off something he discovers or vise versa.

@FlavourFade think we gave him a bit of extra length so he can single cuff if he wants. Thought process was, “better to go a little long than a little too short.”

Bonus points for me is that my girlfriend likes the no cuff look a lot more because she thinks big cuffs look like "BossHoss" (a weird german band which does something like biker country music but not in a -too me- cool way)

Ok friends. Last post here for awhile. We picked up Matt’s 888 21oz from Berkeley Supply today. They did an excellent chainstitch hem job.
Matt is beyond stoked. They came out perfect for his tastes. He kept commenting on how he couldn’t believe how much air flow he was feeling through the denim. He even wore them out into the 102° heat to drive home in.
Thanks again to everyone here for the support and good natured fun and commentary. This forum is the shit and the people who hang out here make it that way!!

Thought I’d share the quick update that Matt has fully embraced his denim journey. Took him a little bit to get used to the idea of wearing a pair of jeans hard, but he’s now hiking in his 888s and has dumped his old Levi’s. Additionally he’s added a couple pairs of Freenote jeans to his collection (black gray selvedge and the indigo x brown selvedge).
