@deanclean I had my wife help me do mine. In my experience, you need the help of another person to do the measurements and drawings successfully.

Stand up during the process to make the process easier for the person assisting you.

…and to add, @Ross may chime in on this as I believe IHUK have done measurements for customers in the past and he can add his expertise.

Thanks @goosehd I will definitely have my wife help. It would be nice if they had reps or something someplace that would measure you and send them to the factory. Maybe I’m just overthinking it a little.

@deanclean I think anyone who sells Wesco should be able to help you, but for us in the Toronto area, it is a bit of a problem.

One thing I noticed at wesco with Chris helping me is that it's incredibly easy to tense your leg or ankle and the measurements change significantly. Definitely relax and be aware.

Great advice @pechelman I’ll take that into account. I think I also read to do the measurements in the evening because swelling of feet will be at their most then.

Consider measuring a couple times as practice over a few days at different times too. My body seems to swell most in the mornings

@deanclean @goosehd is absolutely correct! You really do need another person to do the drawing, it allows you to stand 'naturally' and so your foot is exactly as it should be. This really is the nearest to a pro tip as I can give.

Really if I was doing it for someone at HQ I'd be following the Wesco video to the letter, they make them and so they do know best! The rare occasions we've had where custom sizing came out somewhat awry boiled down to person measuring trying to do it solo in 5 mins on their lunch break and didn't take the time to read the instructions and/or watch the video....

You get out what you put in - take your time, fully read the instructions, watch Wesco's video, ask someone for help tracing and measuring and if you need a nudge in the right direction we/Wesco are at the end of the phone/email (or you can even DM me on here)

I talked to a really nice guy at Wesco yesterday. So helpful. He took my address and is sending me out a custom measurement packet today. Amazing service. You rarely see companies taking the time to talk and help anymore.

Hello again, I’m looking for a little more help on my boot build. I have my form complete and I’m trying to recreate a build I found on line with a couple changes. I’m trying to figure out what sole combination this boot has. It looks like a double midsole? Also not sure if the heels were left natural or brown or maybe left natural and dyed a different colour? I really like the colour combo of the leather. Thanks for any help!

Just placed my custom order! Thanks to everyone for the help. I turn 50 years old in March of 2026. It’s almost a 2 year wait time for boots so these will make a great gift to myself.

IMG_9838.jpeg first pair via The Shop Vancouver. Very comfortable! I think I got the sizing right the first time, these are an 11 and I usually wear a US 11.5-12. Had a bit of heel slip but it seems like as the sole broke in a bit today while wearing it went away. They feel too hot to wear year round, so I guess I have all summer to decide if I’m cool enough to pull them off.

Finally getting around to wearing these custom Wesco collab Boss boots in Black CXL Cowhide that I bought from Iron Heart Germany. The only other engineer boot I’m familiar with is the Mister Lou. I own 2 pairs, Black HH CXL 9.5D & Nat CXL in 9.5E. Went 9.5D in these Boss boots and they feel suspiciously comfortable upon the first wear (with thick socks & no insole), compared to my experience breaking in my Mister Lou’s. I’m assuming it’s cause of the 9165 last on these Boss’s vs the more narrow 1339 last on the Mister Lou that I’m used to.

Nonetheless, they look amazing so far. Im a huge fan of this last and toe shape. Nice change from an MP toe & 1339 last that’s for sure.

                                            I am a Wesco addict 😳
