@EdH I feel happier now I’ve washed it and understanding how indigo works is quite interesting so washing before the 6 months rule isn’t always the way to go

@Mindfulbiscuit It depends on what you want to achieve! Leave denim too long between washes and you'll have great high-contrast fades, but the grime getting into the fibres will start to weaken the cotton and it might start to fall apart.
My general rule for jeans is at least every 100 wears, but sooner if they get muddied, stained, or smelly.
For shirts, they get a wash as soon as I can still smell my pits after they've had an overnight airing. Otherwise I'll be able to smell yesterday's BO on myself, nevermind what anyone else thinks of the stink!

Yeah I think my mistake was not soaking at the right time,once the creases set in on the arms but there’s still potential, the roping is my favourite feature at the moment

@Mindfulbiscuit definitely wash it if it stinks. If you can smell it, everyone can. Washing won't hurt it and will continue to reveal fades. I am eager to see photos when it's dry! How's it looking?!

I try not to disappoint these fade masters out there so it’s coming along I would say a very different fade process

@FlavourFade right to be honest ive never faded overdyed before and it’s been fucking with me because of the muted fades I thought I was doing something wrong so I’ll keep going

@Mindfulbiscuit id say you’re doing something very right by how nice your shirt looks. I find it very hard to fade shirts.

@jerkules definitely harder in terms of keeping it clean compared to jackets and jeans they take a beating for longer,but shirts give some unique results

@Mindfulbiscuit like @jerkules said, the crazy faded shirts you see online are mostly worn daily for hours building stuff sweating asses off. And I would say yours has a decent amount off fades

@FlavourFade yeah I know I work in construction laying bricks and my problem is dust also because my jobs so physical I sweat specially in the summer so staying in my stuff is not nice for 12 hour shift but each to there own I always wonder what it would be like not working on site fading gear

@Mindfulbiscuit I work in retail so for me it's running around all day 20k steps and unloading trucks, but I can't wear denim shirts because I have a dresscode, I'm limited to bottoms and try to fade shirts after my shifts but it's very very slow, no house to work on or stuff like that
