I had the original 2004 version of Tom Waits-Real Gone for years in my car.
As it was a different experience to ‘Alice’ and ‘Blood Money’, I simple forgot about it.
They played the 2017 remixed version in my shop yesterday.
First time hearing, something familiar and also new lingered into my ears.

Was undecided, so I only picked a mint LP of Ash Ra Tempel.

I have a similar experience having owned it on CD when it came out.
I got the 2017 vinyl remaster a few years back and have mixed feelings on it.

Several songs have been "tweaked" slightly beyond what I would consider the usual for remixing/remastering

Case in point:

Even in the first few seconds you hear guitar and horn parts that weren't present in the original mix
