      @the246guy meh...

      Edit: the only one that catches my eye is the 1908 model, but I like the Chopard posted above more.

        Completely agree the knurls on the bezel help with the jubilee. It is really jarring imo with the smooth bezel on the date just and such

        Think it, be it.

          @bluemantra I liked the previous generation Air-King, but it had a soft iron inner case to protect the movement against magnetism, so it was a bit chunkier and less well balanced than other Rolexes. The new one has lost this, so it's more svelte.

          I don't know how it's affected its protection against magnetism, but Rolex sell Master Chronometer rated watches, so I'm hoping that they're doing something.

          If I got a Rolex, I'd probably be making a similar decision to you.

          @the246guy, I like your new watch strap! The Aqua Terra is nice too.

          I've been pretty underwhelmed by the new releases this year in general, and from Rolex and Tudor in particular. I think that the Black Bay 58 GMT is the most interesting piece they've done.

            @Graeme Yes, the Tudor BB 58 GMT looks stunning, especially with the reduced size and dimensions. Will take a closer look at it once they hit the retailers.

                  @bluemantra really good to see a Hanhart watch on this thread. I have admired them for a good few years now. A company with an interesting history. The painting of the re-set button red on the tachy tele model has become a bit of an icon / trademark for the brand.

                  From the current collection I think my favourite is the white dial 417ES moby dick. Probably because I have more black dials in my watch collection so I am looking for lighter dial colour pieces currently.

                    @ddtrash isn't that an excuse to get a white dial Speedmaster?

                        @ddtrash thank you. I love the classic look and history behind this model. From what I understand it was only just recently re-released. The urban gentry is who turned me on to this watch. It was my first mechanical watch. The panda dial is nice as well and I believe has the flyback function.

                            I think that specific watch was offered for a few hundred Euros.

                                  This is probably my only priced possession. It's the last version of the 114270 before they blew up the dimensions (and altered the proportions of this watch) with the 39mm iteration. This means it has got the venerable 3130 caliber - pure perfection, if you ask me - and the engraved rehaut. Other than that, is's a very simple tool watch in all the best sense.

                                  To my knowledge they went back to 36mm but didn't keep the 20mm lugs that allowed for a variety of strap choices. The bracelet of the 114270 is last century watchmaking, hollow centre links but solid end links. Make of that what you will ... .

                                  It's the watch I wear nearly every day for everything but rock climbing. It found its way to me around the time my son was born and it belonged a late friend of my father's. I like the thought that my son might wear in a few decades :).

                                    @RobeOfTheMagi I also have this Explorer 1 reference and enjoy wearing it. I was lucky enough to be offered one of the first current 40mm versions pretty soon after they were released. The older 36mm with the more basic / less robust clasp is way more comfortable.
