@GraemeE It's still a good table for the money. Especially when you upgrade the stylus to Moonstone. I'd probably still buy it again if I was shopping in that price range. But I did find a few other online reviews / forum posts where people mention having the same issue I did. So not a total fluke. Biggest learning for me is save all the original packaging. If I had that, would have been easier to pursue warranty / refund kind of thing.

@Tago-Mago Suspiria is the one I was first introduced to so that would be a good start

From there it kind of depends on your appetite for some of the "cheesier" aspects of prog and synth music -

Efterklang- Piramida (2012)
„Efterklang´s 4th album and their first as a trio. The album is inspired by an expedition to the ghost town of Pyramiden on the island of Spitsbergen just 1000km from the North Pole…
The album features guest appearances by Nils Frahm (piano), Peter Broderick (piano, violin), Earl Harvin (drums) and the 70-piece Danish girls choir; Sønderjydsk Pigekor.
Alongside the album, Efterklang developed The Piramida Concert series that saw the band perform the album in its entirety with classical orchestras in venues like Sydney Opera House, The Metropolitan...
Album artwork by Hvass&Hannibal.“This enclosed booklet is beautiful:
There are many documentaries about Pyramiden.
See the following as an example…

@Aetas great to find someone else into Efterklang on here. Great album and the live rendition was amazing (it featured Budgie as guest drummer). Probably the band I’ve seen most often and looking forward to seeing them again in October.
Also agree their album artwork is always top notch.

Picked up these 2 yesterday
I'm pretty sure @steelydan got this same release last year on RSD
This one is an oddball - sealed 1968 repress of what was originally released as a Cecil Taylor album until it was re-branded as Coltrane

Efterklang @ARNC !
Great you have seen them live with Piramida. Where have you seen them? When I got father of three in 2008 there was a need for smooth music
.
Was heavy into Nils Frahm with Felt and Spaces.
Not a long walk to explore Efterklang I guess…But had this Piramida only on Cd until I was in Oslo (Norway) for a few hours a week ago.
Long story short, I had some time left.
Visited the National Museum and there was an announcement for an upcoming concert of Efterklang in the Munch Museum Oslo in December 2024.
Left the Museum and googled the next record shop in walk distance. Found what I searched for and was happy as ****!Wish I had more time for Oslo and Norway!

@Aetas I first saw them in Hyde Park back in 2010 (Magic Chairs era) as part of the Serpentine Sessions and saw the Piramida tour at Warwick Arts Centre (a great out of London venue). Last saw them at the Barbican on 29 February 2020 just before you know what happened. Another one was cancelled, so October will be long overdue.
Worth seeing live if you can as the atmosphere is very special. They often try to involve local musicians in the show - last time they assembled a scratch choir to join them for some songs.

Yall got me hooked on these obis so now I’ve broken down and bought plastic outer sleeves to protect the record cases. Not doing a big project at once but just slipping them on as I listen. Next, the records will be sleeping in my bed while I stay out here in the music room using my jeans as a pillow. “Sick pillow fades bruh

@68degreesorless personally the idea of a big project putting covers on all of them at once sounds super satisfying....that is if you don't have small humans distracting you every 90 seconds

Glad to know I’m not the only one around here who is willing to make sacrifices for uniformity and longevity
