As much as I love my 21oz pairs, I had to get one of these as a summer pair for down the road. Gonna hold out till I can’t stands the heat, then these are going in to fill their role as heat beaters!

The 14oz fabric is pretty damn brutal in the heat to be honest. This fabric is what I wear during the cool months here in the desert.

@Palmer I’m sure the indigo will be no hotter than my 14oz BB I wore last summer. The tighter weave is also a little more durable for my rougher summer activities. I wear 21 in the summer too, but they can be a bit much on the hottest most humid days around here.

These came in today and I gave em a soak and I’m wearing them around WET all evening because they’re tight as fuck. But this was the plan. I want these to fit like a glove and so far, so good!

@Jakederoche well these are a 32, but have the slimmest measurements of any 888 I have. My 21ib is a 32, and my sbg a 33 with a hair looser numbers than those. The 888 is slimmest in the waist and thigh for me so I figured if I could get into them, they’d form up. No probs with the buttons and I figured my 777s are slimmer everywhere else, as long as I don’t plump up, the waist should get no-belt comfy. They fit like my 777s with a higher rise, which my ass is thankful for.

@WhiskeySandwich thats great fit! I agree. The rise and thigh on the 888 are great for getting away with that extra slim fit on the waist which transfers very well everywhere else !

Tried these on real quick this morning before work since they'd mostly dried and they feel like they stretched in all the right places. I was pretty surprised at how much they formed to my shape thanks to my wet yoga. They def look tighter when wet than they actually are. The waist is still pretty snug but has already stretched to nearly where my 21oz 888s are, and is "no gap/no squeeze". It was so weird to feel how light they were compared to those 21s. I think they'll do awesome in the hot weather, they seem much more forgiving than the 142bb. We'll see how much more stretch I can get out of them once they go into summer rotation, I expect I'll get what I need out of them after a few days of my regular activities.

Hi, I'm just about to pull the trigger on a pair of these. I tried them on in Hamburg and the 33 waist is tight and the 34 waist is loose. Should I go tight because they stretch or go loose because they shrink?

@electroross my 32s stretched nearly 2 inches wearing them wet under a lot of pressure. This is kinda an unusual scenario, but shows what they’re capable of. Wash cold and they shouldn’t shrink. They’ll snug up but stretch back to pre-wash size after some wear. I’d get them snug in the waist unless you want a more relaxed fit with a belt. They probably won’t stretch a lot if they’re not under a lot of pressure. The guide in the product page regarding stretch and shrink is pretty accurate per item. If the 34 is loose, I’d go 33. But hit up the crew and they’ll help you dial in the fit.

Does anyone know if the 888 cut fits over engineer boots ok? Or where I can find that info? I’d wear a 34 tag so 8inch opening. Boots are on order. Don’t have them yet. I have 2 pairs of 888’s and they fit perfectly but I had them tapered to 7.5 so I’m not sure they’ll fit. Was thinking I’d get these 888-142 if the hem works. Thanks for any info.

@jmceachern which engineers did you order? Overall the 888 hemm in 34 gives you plenty of space for a engineerboot.. i have Lofgrens and has Wesco Mr Lou which fitted very good under the hemm of my 888. Hope that helps

These might be the comfortable pants of any kind that I’ve worn. Only maybe 15 wears, but they are already showing some subtle honeycombs and creases. So good. They drape and mold to the body really well, almost at the 21oz indigo level. I live in a warm climate, so these, the 14 SBR and the 14 BB will be my summer work attire. All are equally comfortable.

I’m done dabbling with any of the other JPN denim brands.
