@Mizmazzle LMAO, right?! the womens do much stranger things with their clothes i think. I do my weird things in the name of comfort usually, like obsessively measuring shirts and pants, and soaking clothes, but she sacrifices comfort for style. To each their own, as long as we can make fun of each other for it! Ultimately - everyone is a weirdo in their own way.

Haha exactly what happens in our house @Mizmazzle @WhiskeySandwich

I think my favorite is when she sees me pull out the Edding to note the wear days on the inside of my pocket bags. The face she made when I told her about it first was absolutely hilarious! 😂

On another note, here’s a not so scientific but really interesting proof to what we were discussing earlier regarding the sizing / stretch.

What you see is my worn down 34 888s five wear days after the last wash and the fresh 35 888 SBG, technically also five wear days after their last wash.

The edges of the waist just match perfectly…

            Edit:
Both jeans are now at a perfect 90cm (35.4 Inches)

            Use it or lose it.

Hahaha man, I feel all of y'all on that — I think the thing my girlfriend makes fun of me for the most is "gah everything you wear is so HEAVY and grrrrrrrrr (usually makes some kind of mannish bro-face)." Tbh she's right, but as I mentioned, I'm just used to it — even wearing SBG felt way light after so much XHS. "Do I even have pants on? Better check."

I've never owned a pair of the 21oz fabric, but if it is anything like the 21oz SGB I get all the all the buzz is about. The fabric is amazing and comfy out of the bag. I can tell this is going to be a long haul denim, definitely in it for the next two years or more.

I missed out on the 32s so I size up to a 33. It is a little baggier than I have been wearing for some years now but I will say it is nice to be able to get out of my jeans without my wife's help.

Two weeks constant wear, only some small stretch in the waist, no noticeable fades, and only on the edges of the back pockets. A dog jumped up on me, putting dirty marks all over, but by the time I’d gotten home the dirt had dried and fallen off. Lol.

@Richard Yup, these haven't stretched quite as much, but ended up about exactly the measurements of my other 888's. Glad I got a pair on the smaller end of the next size up. Also, worn for about 12 days now and no fades to speak of, just getting slight shine though. I'm sure the shine will give way to gray at some point. These are so soft and comfy, and despite the fuzziness, also seem to be easy enough to keep clean.

@natefreezy I would invite you to think about a few things before you size down. Here’s some of my personal experience with SBG. First, I’ve had 2 separate pairs. Both I’ve had to sell because they got too small. SBG does not stretch like 21oz indigo does. Secondly, when sizing. I didn’t think of the future. I just through about right now. First pair 32, second 34. Now I’d take a 36 in a different cut. But they fit great for the first year or so and then either the thigh or waist was too small (usually thigh) so consider if you plan to wear these years down the line as your body changes. Last consideration, movement. I started skinny. Now prefer 888 or loose fits. All basically from range of motion. Really want to be active in mine too. So depending on occupation and free time it may be advisable to go TTS or even size up depending on how you will wear them.

That said. If you’re gonna rock them your style for a year or so and move on. Sure size down for fun. Future and long term wear. Stick with size or size up.

                          Enjoy the SBG fades!

It seems that the "will stretch" vs. "won't stretch" topic is quite controversial based on the comments in this thread so far. There's only one way to find out for me and that is to wear them myself when they arrive.

Edited to add that I'll share my personal experience with these here soon once I break them in.

Oh and if I'm not mistaken, the SBG earlier in this thread used to shrink once washed, but the new SBG is one-washed and will stretch. This is an important factor to consider when reading some of the comments and making an opinion before purchasing.

FWIW - My SBG was 32.1" when brand new, and stopped stretching at 33.9". Only took 2-3 days. It's still at 33.9" on day 14.

To add - my 21ib went from 31.9" to 33.9" in the same time, and remains 33.9" after months of wear.

^ this was my experience as well. Mine are in the 666 cut, so a lower rise than 888. But somehow all my jeans end up at 33” regardless of cut.

@Richard how snug were they when you started? If they essentially fit you to the point where you weren’t pushing very hard on them with your belly only minimal stretch would be achieved. If you had to suck in your gut to get them buttoned, more stretch would occur….like mine. Haha. Had to breath in a bit and hold to button.

Additionally, stretch will also depend on the type of physical activity done in the jeans and the duration of it. Generally speaking, sitting all day in jeans, for example, might not help stretching them significantly while walking, climbing, squatting or whatever more likely will.
