I’m struggling to make sense of the measurements vs what the crew are wearing on this one. In case it helps others too, would the crew like to share what influenced their decisions? Also if anyone has time, how do the final measurements compare with the sample?

@ARNC I was swimming in a Medium. The small was roomy enough to layer under too

@ARNC I could wear a Medium but arms were a little too baggy for my own personal preference. Small has enough room for a light jumper underneath and a bit more fitted how I'd like it to be worn.

@ARNC I found that these followed the sizing principle of a lot of the IHMs where you want to go down a size from your 'normal' shirt size. In my particular case I've lost some weight recently so found the XL to be the best fit, although I would still fit in the XXL without being overwhelmed by it.

I just received my A2 (in Whipcord) with similar measurements and I stuck to my regular IH jacket sizing. I wear a Large in UHF and Westerns so I ordered the Medium in the A2 and it is exactly what I was looking for. I also own a Medium N1 from Iron Heart and the A2 certainly has a bit more room for layering but still looks great over a tee shirt with perfect overall length and sleeve length. I am very happy with it so far! I will post pics and a review in the other thread in the next few days...it is a great all-around jacket and I find it more versatile than the N1 because it flies a bit more under the radar.

@SaddleSC I second this. Ordered the Whipcord in XXL, my regular UHF size. Way too big. Returned and got an XL, which fits nicely with room for layering @ARNC

Thanks @AdamJ @Bailey @Ross (excellent as always) and @SaddleSC @Tago-Mago. I’m usually L in work shirts including UHF, occasionally XL and my N1 is L. Looks like it might make sense to go M (something I haven’t done for decades).

@ARNC No worries man! Sizing is a minefield, which is why we all try on every product we launch!

Love the styling on this jacket.
Would you guys ever consider making one with a lighter lining for warmer climates?
Would love to wear this in LA in the winter.

I wholeheartedly support this. A2 sans lining would be useful for my Socal climate.

Well, it arrived at work today and it’s really nice (although it looks kinda ridiculous over suit trousers). Will have to wait for the weekend to see how it fits over IH gear but I think sizing down was probably the right decision so long as the body length is ok. Can update next time I’m at home.

Overall the serge outer and wool lining feels less bulky and offers better mobility than the whipcord/alpaca combo of my N1, so this could be a really useful addition to my winter wardrobe.

@ARNC do you think that difference between serge vs whipcord on the A2 and N1 (serge being lighter and malleable) also translates on the two A2 versions? I have a couple of IH whipcord shirts that I love, but no experience with these jackets and I’m considering the pros and cons of each fabric.

@CPA hard to say without a direct comparison but I guess it will mostly be down to the lining (as I have no trouble walking in my 720 whipcord pants). The N1 lining is quite bulky (in a good way). In terms of which A2, I preferred the serge colour and it was more different to other stuff I have.
