This is an old pic but give you an idea of the kind of morels we can find around here. I like to forage for wild turkey in the springtime too

@SKT I am incredibly envious over that morel and others you find. How is turkey season this year? Has it started?

@Oaktavia yep , the fall turkey season just started October 1st and goes through the end of the month. I use a bow and hunt for turkey and deer in the fall usually waiting until the first cool/cold front moves through. We are lucky here that the turkey population is really strong, although the last few years have been a little lean because of very wet Springs. It’s not uncommon to see flocks of 20-30 birds on our farm in the fall. I’ll post some pics if I can get any this year.

Are any of you amateurs foragers UK based? It's something I'd love to get involved in, but wouldn't know where to start!

I only found one big mama morel this year. I went out on a day I thought would be incredibly “fruitful” and found this within a minute. Unfortunately I didn’t find anything else the entire season?!?

This was found in a place that was once like that. I still go there every year but it has never replicated the same experience as it did 20+ years ago. Found literally pounds that year, late 90s while still in high school.
It made a lifer out of me!
Just wish it would happen again.

@Fadez I found more oysters growing on the stumps! They usually pop up after a big rain. They are on the menu in this house tonight.
