Bought this today, because I remembered the song in the flashlight as something special.
- Let’s make a Bomb (New Version) by Heaven 17
Heard it at at first, in several locations, four years after its issue in 83’.
Sounds familiar nowadays, but also unheard after all this years:
And this is what the young guns do with it. Respect!

@scooter Really cool song. Travis Barker was my pick to be Foo Fighters drummer. What did you think of Foo Fighters at the HD 120TH show?
The Foos were fantastic. They engaged with the audience better than any other I've seen. Small venue feel, in a sea of 40,000 people. I hadn't had that much fun at a show, since seeing AC/DC in 1991. That's not to say, I haven't seen any good shows, in that time. They just didn't have the party vibe you get from the aforementioned.

On the way to work this morning, I heard this song for the first time. As a long-time fan of Joe Satriani, it really spoke to me.

@goosehd I don't get much into 'popular culture', but I heard this one created quite a stir. Similar to how Tyler Childers did within the country music community. It's wild to me how people can be so polarized about things that seem intended to focus on empathy for the sake of uniting people. It really shows how the media exacerbates partisanship. Can't we all just get along?....and/or leave each other alone? lol sorry for soapboxing, maybe it should go to rants...
EDIT: @goosehd i kept scrolling to catch up and dude is killing it with these song selections!

@SKT The snippets do sound really good. I really liked The Replacements, although I never saw them. When I was playing on the NYC circuit he/Ed was a pretty big deal. He,at that time was based out of Media Sound Studios, and they like a lot of studios, were looking to sign bands to production deals. That meant that if the studio gave you free time to record your demos, and you were fortunate enough to get a record deal, you would agree to record your album there,or reimburse them for the demo time. Media had hired Genya Ravan to look for bands for them, and it was Ed Stasium's assistant Ramona, who said to Genya I saw this band Sorrows at CBGB and you should check them out,and the rest is sort of history. I stayed friends with Ramona for a while, and she was the only person we thanked on our album. I saw Ed at the clubs, but never actually met him. Glad to hear that he's the one remixing The Replacements. And on a sad note Ramona is having a rough time with cancer. Sorry for rambling.
